I just "depinked" my stash (I hate the color pink) and "depinked" my garden today, cutting down all pink Rose of Sharons and digging out all pink echiniceas. Tomorrow I start on purples. I just cannot use those two colors when I quilt or it irritates me, although I love dark purple in my garden. Go figure!! Anyone else hate a certain color?

bearisgray 09-11-2010 11:38 AM

What did you do with all of pink and purple fabrics?

cjomomma 09-11-2010 11:39 AM

Fushia(sp?) otherwise I'm not picky about colors. You can pass your unwanted colors this way. :)

amma 09-11-2010 11:43 AM

I don't think there is any color that I hate :D:D:D

Bmanmommy 09-11-2010 11:43 AM

Purple, Purple, Purple, oh and did I mention Purple.

It doesn't matter what it is, I just can stand that color.

Borntohandquilt 09-11-2010 11:48 AM

I don't like black...

Lostn51 09-11-2010 11:51 AM

I love all of the colors but the one color I tend to purposely leave out of my quilts is.......White. I dont know why but I have never been a fan of white.

pookie ookie 09-11-2010 11:52 AM

Black and one jewel tone green make me want to punch people.

belmer 09-11-2010 11:58 AM

My thoughts EXACTLY !!!

I don't love all colors, but don't hate any. I tend to stay away from muddy tones.

Are there theories about "color therapy"?

Candace 09-11-2010 12:16 PM

I don't care for peach at all.

barbrdunn 09-11-2010 12:19 PM

I don't care for the color orange.

SaraSewing 09-11-2010 12:34 PM

I love that! And I'm siding with you. I love all colours but prefer blacks to be marbled. Don't use them much. And there is a particular jewel tone green that even as I try to visualize it makes me want to hurt people........teeth on edge.........

Dragonfly Nana 09-11-2010 12:38 PM

Olive Drab green remains OUT of my stash.

tmw 09-11-2010 12:48 PM

i don't like the color avocado, my favorite is blue and different shades of pink, thelma

wolfkitty 09-11-2010 12:51 PM

Not so much a color as a shape - something about hearts. Just reeeeeeeally don't like them. Maybe olive green or similar. I'm with tmw - I love blue.

raedar63 09-11-2010 01:06 PM

Pink is the worst for me. I refuse to make pink baby quilts lol(well not really,I just wont EVER wear pink)

luv-e 09-11-2010 01:09 PM

I LOVE IT ALL!!!
I know I'm sick lol lol lol

Qarena 09-11-2010 01:48 PM

I am more into true colors, don't like pastels.

Sadiemae 09-11-2010 01:53 PM

Dull, drab colors make me want to gag. I do not like quilts or anything that is made with those dull, drab shades. I have to have color and contrast in color.

bearisgray 09-11-2010 02:04 PM

It depends on whether I'm looking at it or wearing it or surrounded by it.

pieces 09-11-2010 02:06 PM

BLUE, not in my quilts and not in my gardens.

I think I am her with you Billy, I don't use white. I have used a White on white once or twice but never solid white. Actually I am not a fan of solid colors, never use them. I like tone on tones.
Rust is not a favorite color of mine either.

RST 09-11-2010 02:52 PM

While there are some colors I don't like in isolation, I find I often like them very much in combinations. So olive drab-- ick. But olive drab as a foil to set off some turquoise and sky blues -- really pretty.

My stash is very light on purple. I don't wear it. I am not drawn to it at all, but I will use it on occasion.

PurpleBecca 09-11-2010 03:22 PM

So much hatred for all these colours!!!!! AND my beloved purple coming in for a bashing OHHHH I could weep!!

I actually love ALL colours - muddy tones are not much fun -but combined with others OK!

But I do actually find it harder on my eyes to sew black and navy and other very dark colours - but I don't hate them!

I do have colours I choose not to wear. (pale Mauve being one I dislike in MY clothes!!)

grammyp 09-11-2010 03:27 PM

I can't say I hate it, but I have trouble working with orange. I do use some in fall theme quilts, but even then it leans more toward yellow or red than true orange.

I also don't particularly care for pastels. I like my colors rich and vibrant.

sewhappy30 09-11-2010 03:34 PM

I don't really not like any colors, but I'm not real fond of browns and tans things in that catagory.

However, I'm doing the farmer's Wife quilt and trying to stay close to the colors in the book. (browns, tans, etc.) and actually their not to bad.

I mostly like colorful and cheery, even pastels.

I'm sure glad we all have such different tastes so we can see all kinds of different color arrangements.

annette1952 09-11-2010 03:41 PM

I love all colors. They all look great when they are placed right with other colors. I have seen over & over on this board where someone posts a pic of a quilt & someone replies to it like " I don't care for the color orange (example) but in your quilt I could learn to love it." So it does make a big difference in the pattern & the placement.

AnnaK 09-11-2010 03:42 PM

I don't like the combination of peach and green. It's just boring! My, but we can get emotional over colors.

Mariposa 09-11-2010 03:48 PM

I don't like red. Or muddy, dull, drab colors.
Give me Pink! Yep! Purple too! Bright, pure colors=yes! :)

Beth33 09-11-2010 03:52 PM

Don't like red or blue
