Any thing hand made is never perfect but but perfection or not quilts are well loved

Tartan, you are a hoot! I agree, mine all look so good in my head. It's like in golf. I picture my golf ball flying through the air and landing in the green. When I hit it, it never goes like I pictured. Oh well, quilting and golf are both fun ways to pass the time.

As a fellow golfer, I understand completely & share your sentiments. F O R E !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Think it was funny that you made the comparison of a "perfect murder" to a "perfect quilt". Sometimes I think I'd like to "murder" or "do in" a quilt I am working on...however when it is finished usually I am pleased with the results. Enjoy the hand applied binding the most, I guess, because that means my quilt is almost finished!

Some days I think my machine is cursed, or my brain fell out. I NEVER have a perfect anything.

the perfect quilt is always one made by someone else!!

well, there may be perfect patterns somewhere, patterns so clear and easy to use that a perfect quilt may be born, you have to be lucky enough to find one and be in the right frame of mind and have your machines, scissors etc cooperate with you. What are the chances?

If you want a technically perfect quilt, buy a machine made one. Even then, if you look closely, there will be some imperfections. Hand-making quilts is artistry and imperfection is part of the artistic endeavor.

Now, let's see if that statement ignites WWIII among quilters. froggyintexas

the perfect quilt is the one you're snuggling under. it's done, it's being used, it's doing what it's supposed to do. i figure that things can be perfectly imperfect. keeps us humble.
