I was expecting a picture of a big spider crawling on your wall!
I'd SITD around the colors so the design comes through on the back as well. And maybe just a loose stipple on the blue. But that's just me and my limited free motion skills speaking.

What a neat quilt!

Ooooh, great ideas!! Thanks! I have no imagination when it comes to the quilting part. Now I'm thinking a combination of your suggestions...

Good job. I would use an all over pattern, maybe 5 point stars

At every machine quilting class I have taken the general rule of thumb when in doubt is straight lines on curved piecing and curve lines on straight piecing.

He sure is cute.

I think it would look great with just straight line horizontal stitching across the whole quilt - maybe 1 1/2" apart. Cute quilt!!!

He is R2D2 or a Storm Trooper? :)

Sewnoma 05-08-2014 05:30 AM

That's a Storm Trooper, not R2D2! (I am a Star Wars geek, and that is a huge difference! LOL)

What a cute quilt, I love it!!

If you have Mad Quilting Skills, you could possibly quilt in some of the ships & symbols from the movies - TIE fighters would be appropriate for a Storm Trooper. Maybe even hide a Death Star somewhere. Or the Imperial Crest! That would be some tricky quilting (WELL beyond my abilities) but if you can do that, that would be incredible. (Just Google "TIE fighter", "Death Star", or "Star Wars Imperial Crest" to see what the heck I'm talking about.)

Now *I* want this quilt! LOL

What size is the pattern? My grandson-in-law in a huge Star Wars fan. Can you share the name of the pattern and a link?
