GREAT! Cancer, Chemo, Radiation etc is horriable. Sorry can't spell

SewMomma66 10-06-2011 01:14 PM

I am really sorry you had to endure that but so happy you are well. My mom-in-law is an 18 year survivor!!

athomenow 10-06-2011 01:16 PM

Had mine, went for a repeat three days later, had a scan and have to go back in six months. First time I've ever had any trouble but they think it's calcium deposits!

mosquitosewgirl 10-06-2011 01:17 PM

Yay!

scrappy2 10-06-2011 01:19 PM

Snorky Lvs2Quilt 10-06-2011 01:34 PM

Had a scare with my last mammo a month ago. Had a biopsy which turned out A-OK!!!! Great news since my family is riddled with breast cancer. Congrats on being a 2-1/2 yr survivor.

Lady Crafter 10-06-2011 01:52 PM

Congrats on being a survivor. I'm done with the mammo ... a few months ago. It was clean! Yay!!

Becka 10-06-2011 02:01 PM

Lady-T 10-06-2011 02:46 PM

Congratulations on being a survivor!

One thing I never forget to schedule! Had numerous scares.
Repeat mammos every 6 months for 3 years (3 different times) Have also had 2 breast MRI's because of 'suspicious' areas.....
Lost my mom & grandmother to breast cancer and a sister who is a 14 yr survivor (woohoo!)

Ilovemydogs 10-06-2011 03:49 PM

1 year survivor! Getting mine checked again in Nov! Hugs to all the survivors out there!

MsMel 10-06-2011 04:03 PM

alikat110 10-06-2011 05:49 PM

And, your avatar is fabulous. Congrats.

My friend Naima died a few years ago in October. God have mercy on her. My kids think the pink light on the top of the Hancock building here in Chicago is for her.

Tartan 10-06-2011 06:24 PM

Had a lump last year. Had a slamagram (that's what I call them ) and ultrasound. Had the lump aspirated and the results came back it was only a cyst. I do go regularly, one cannot be too careful!

crafty_linda_b 10-06-2011 06:27 PM

Had mine in Sept...glad you are a survivor!! crafty_linda_b

COYOTEMAGIC 10-06-2011 08:05 PM

Squishy Squishy!!! Get'er Done!!

I let life get in the way and missed for 4 years. When I finally did, I was Stage 3. Been fighting for 3 years now. The key is beleiving you WILL win!!

Teddybear Lady 10-06-2011 08:11 PM

Good for you. My SIL found out last week that she is now "cancer free". Praise the Lord!

smagruder 10-07-2011 02:41 AM

Congratulations! I get mine every year.

stitchengramie 10-07-2011 02:44 AM

Way to go girl! I get my mammogram every year.

thenonnielady 10-07-2011 02:52 AM

Just had mine, and an ultra sound two weeks later to check suspicious areas. All okay.

I survived cancer, it has been 18 years. Thank God.

applique 10-07-2011 03:40 AM

Another survivor. Just had a 3D mammo on mastectomy. Quite an experience!!

Stitcher317 10-07-2011 04:34 AM

I am 3 year survivor this month and get re-checks every 6 mos..Mammo and MRI....I found "it" myself my accident while scratching myself 6 weeks after being told my yearly mammo was normal. Turns out the breast center I was going to had been watching this thing for 3 years without telling me! They said it wasn't changing so didn't report it to me or my family Dr....and they knew my mom had breast cancer! Get comfortable with what feels normal to you and never take anything for granted. Happy to report that I have an excellent prognosis. Had lumpectomy with radiation but I am always waiting for the other shoe to drop....

AprilG 10-07-2011 04:39 AM

My 26 year old niece's last request was for all the women in her family to get their mammos. She was diagnosed with breast cancer when she was 4 months pregnant. She refused to abort the baby. Said she would take her chances. The doctors said she would never see her little girl reach 3 months old. She died when her daughter was 18 months old. She is missed! I get my mammogram yearly!

mimee4 10-07-2011 05:05 AM

So happy for all the survivors. Had my mammo a week ago and had to go back Monday for a re-do. Fortunately everything was ok but the weekend was tough. I admire those who can keep on keeping on.

Monie 10-07-2011 05:05 AM

ALSO "IN HONOR OF" all love ones that cancer took from us!

WMUTeach 10-07-2011 05:49 AM

Scheduled for mine on October 14. Would not miss the opportunity to get squished! I have a bad family history and will NOT take a chance. Go, go survivors! And the rest of us, keep healthy by regularly screening.

Short on cash or no insurance to cover the cost of a MAMMO? October is the Breast Screening month and I frequently hear that there are $$$$ to cover the full cost of screenings for those who qualify. Please take care of yourself. We want to keep hearing from you here on the site for a long, long time.

ChildoftheUniverse 10-07-2011 06:11 AM

Great hugs to you! God bless and many years of health and happiness.

Peggy Jeanne 10-07-2011 07:02 AM

bobieann 10-07-2011 09:54 AM

I am a survivor from 1988 and from 1996. My kids were little then and I just wanted to live to raise them. I am still here. My guardian angel is looking out for me.
