The only ones I ever did were decorative and pointed in and were on an inner border.

I have seen them both ways too, I thought they were suppose to go "out" until I saw them the "other way"....so both ways works for me 8-)

I've only used them on one quilt. Up until now I thought they always pointed out. Had no idea some people point them in, at any place in the quilt. Learn something new everyday!

That is gorgeous, I love them on the little sashing like that. Hope I get the time to do a quilt that nice some day! Wonderful, so modern and so traditional too!

The Prairie Points look like squares folded twice, do you slipstitch the open edge close, or machine stitch them, or just leave them open? Thanks for the photo of another gorgeous quilt!

Thanks for the tut! The very first quilt I made (a log cabin crib size) had prairie points as binding. My teacher at the time had us make each point individually and line them up along each border. What an intense exercise. Haven't done them since. But, since seeing this method, I think I'll give it a try again!

Yonnikka are prairie points still call prairie point if they stick out off the quilt instead of in?

Try google-ing 'continuous prairie points'. You may be happier.

The points are squares of fabric, folded twice. There is no stitching. I usually put them on the outside binding of a quilt - pointing out. But recently used them as an inside border. I like to make them from several colors pulled from the quilt, overlaping rather closely.
