I use New Bedford Thread Do furrier Wased Skein for hand sewing. It comes in a very convenient package. It never knots or gets twirly and is very strong. The one I use is called Size A (I have no idea what that means) and comes in a 675 yard package. I use it for all of my hand sewing. I even use it for handsewing sewing my stuffed animals arms and legs on. It is very strong, and very easy to use. My LQS carries this.

I usually use a double strand of regular sewing thread matched to the color of the binding.

My preference is a single strand of hand quilting thread as it's stronger than regular thread.

I use the same thread as for piecing in a color that is neutral to the quilt rather than the binding. I find the binding side of sewing rarley shows, It is usually the quilt side that shows the thread stitch and that is why I use a color to go with the quilt.

I usually use a single strand of Bottom Line or a similar fine polyester thread. It melts into the fabric and disappears, but it's very strong and it's not going to let your binding come undone. :)

I use a single strand of thread that matches the color of my binding, and I use an invisable applique stitch.

I use Mettler silk-finish 100% cotton No. 50 because I have a lot of it for applique and can usually match the binding color.

I use either one strand of hand quilting thread or 2 strands of regular sewing thread. Just depends on color and what I have on hand and what is handiest!
