been there....done that.....walked in on a garage sale as people were leaving with wonderful fabric treasures, or gone into a thrift store and saw people paying for great stuff. nothing left for me soI told myself that next time I would have better luck....maybe you will have better luck next time too!

I agree she probably needed it more than you.

I can feel your pain - but it does seem like the quilt went to a "good home" - it may be that this quilt really did "belong" to this other person  :? :-)

don't worry you'll find the quilt of your dreams.

just send out good karma to her and wish her well with her find and surely a wonderful quilt will come your way.

I'm pouting with you. What a loss. You could consol yourself with thinking about how loved it will be. If she was doing a happy dance, you know she understand the true value of that find!!!!

Yes, I'm sure beyond a doubt that it's gone to a good home. She obviously knew what she had.
Can y'all just imagine anyone giving something like that to a thrift shop?

Seems like a lot of the younger generation are just not interested in anything they think is old (antique) whether it be grandma's furniture or some old quilty thing they didn't want. It is probably much better being with someone who was doing the "happy dance" than tossed in the back of a car or used under a car by someone working on the car.

Just the thought of THAT gives me the chills! It was made of silk!! Oh my! Someone's granny worked hard on that one.

For some reason that you will never know, she probably needed that quilt or something like it to give her some joy that she may have been in great need of.
And good for you for not tackleing her in the parking lot. lol.
