Similar situations have happened to me. I feel your pain and think about things I missed out on for years. On the other hand, I figure I have many things that I have bought for a steal at thrift stores and yard sales that other people wanted also. I guess we have to share our good fortunes.......whaaaaa

Maybe she decided to do rack #1 today instead of #2. I try to vary my choosing each time I go in. If she was happy dancing, maybe we should all stand up and do a little jiggle for her. Pegeth.

Thanks for sharing your story. I agree there must be a reason the quilt ws meant for her. Hope it is well-loved in its new home.

I believe everything happens for a reason. When I see someone get something at a thrift shop that I wanted, I remember the times I have gotten something that someone else wanted. Somehow it all evens out in the end.

Who knows? Maybe it's going to someone who needs a bright light in their lives!

Yes, I'm sure beyond a doubt that it's gone to a good home. She obviously knew what she had.
Can y'all just imagine anyone giving something like that to a thrift shop?

8-)

Not my hubby. He'd burn it.

Just a reminder to myself------------go to our sister church's rummage sale early the first day--------not late the second!

I try to look at things like this entirely in this way. It was meant for her. Your's will find you if it is meant to be.

You are not alone. I went to local shop yesterday and saw a woman wheeling her cart up to the cashier to check out. She had a singer machine(1950's)in her cart. She probably needed it more than me. Our time will come. Happy quilting.

Exactly that quilt was meant for her. That is why you went to rack #2 first. Who knows, perhaps that quilt was one she knew about from a friend, family, possibly even one of hers that had accidently gotten into the shop. Whatever, she was meant to get that particular quilt. Remember there will be others for you down the line.
