I have done the "kicking myself". A few years ago I saw a Featherweight in an antique store for $25. I must have lost my mind because instead of buying it and ordering the power cord replacement that it needed, I told the owner how valuable it was and where he could get the parts to repair it. I chalk it up to being the end of a very hot, tiring day. I was upset with myself for months. Hope someone got it and loves it. I already had a FW so at least that is a consolation.

I agree with you. It was just not meant for you today. Karma wanted her to have it. That means something better is out there 'just for you'. Keep on looking!

You're right about that! It sure wasn't mine. I never thought for a second that it was. I can imagine her looking it over when she got it home and thinking how lucky she was to have found it.
As many others on the board have said, there had to be a reason that I chose the 2nd rack that day. It must have been so that SHE could find that quilt. I wish her well with it. I truly believe in fate stepping in at times.

8-)

SVS, but maybe the quilt was meant to be hers as you started with Rack #2 instead of you starting with Rack #1 as you normally do.

No sense crying over spilled milk. Let it go and just keep looking.

I was in a thrift store on Sat. and they just happen ot have a $5.00 a bag (13 gal. size). WELL, I filled up two of them with mens dress shirts, quilt idea floating around in my head and other projects using them. No ties there, but did find a thrift store the other day with ties for $0.25 each. They had hundreds of ties. Anyone want me to ship them a variety at cost?

Perhaps you ought to re-read the original post. This gal is not crying over spilled milk. She (and we) are rejoicing that some lady is beyond pleases.

a friend learned to make a little evening bag from a silk tie. It's as cute as a bug. She and her hubby were staying in Florida over the winter, and she learned to do it at a little craft group in her trailer court.

Sorry you missed out, but I am sure you will find something just as nice next time. It probably was meant to be.

At one of our thrift stores, they have a sign posted that if an item does not have a price on it, it cannot be sold that day. I think that policy is crazy.
