I will play with ideas, of course, but what do you think of the ones the pattern recommends. It calls for a three inch inner white border (it is really a white on white, but it doesn't show up too well), then a one inch blue border, and then an outer border of four inches of the focus fabric.
I was thinking of leaving the white border out. This quilt already has a lot of white in it. ?? Suggestions? Thanks. Dina |
I think it needs the white to finish the center. Your idea posted will look nice.

i think the recommended borders sounds good. i think the white border will 'float' the center nicely

I would do a darker border next to your pieced top....something to stop the colors.....then maybe a narrow white border and another wider dark border to finish it. Beautiful quilt!

I'd do an inch wide purple first to contain the colors before I used any of the fabrics in the quilt. The quilt colors will bleed into the border colors without a stopper strip. Then you can do a wide focal fabric with a blue binding. I like pieced borders lately, but they are more work. Maybe just some nine patch corners?

I know it's to late, but I think green would have been a good border fabric.

I'd do a narrow blue border, then a white one, then finish with the focus fabric for the outer border. I love the colors.

i like the idea of blue, then white, then the focus fabric. can't wait to see your finished quilt.

either the white or blue for an inner border will do fine.
