It calls for a three inch inner white border (it is really a white on white, but it doesn't show up too well), then a one inch blue border, and then an outer border of four inches of the focus fabric.

I was thinking of leaving the white border out. This quilt already has a lot of white in it. ??

Suggestions? Thanks.

I'd go with blue or print border. Enough white already. Another thought, could you match any of the green for the inside border?

I think it needs the white to finish the center. Your idea posted will look nice.

i think the recommended borders sounds good. i think the white border will 'float' the center nicely

I would do a darker border next to your pieced top....something to stop the colors.....then maybe a narrow white border and another wider dark border to finish it. Beautiful quilt!

Then you can do a wide focal fabric with a blue binding. I like pieced borders lately, but they are more work. Maybe just some nine patch corners?

I agree with irishrose. I would also audition the suggested sizes for the borders before cutting. What size are your blocks? How big is the top as it stands now? Will an 8" finished size border compliment or overwhelm the center? Just a thought. Thanks for sharing your beautiful work!

I know it's to late, but I think green would have been a good border fabric.

I'd do a narrow blue border, then a white one, then finish with the focus fabric for the outer border. I love the colors.

I think I would opt for the recommended borders as well, I think a darker color kind of stops the pattern rather than floating it and I kind of like that effect.

i like the idea of blue, then white, then the focus fabric. can't wait to see your finished quilt.

either the white or blue for an inner border will do fine.
