I wouldn't leave the white border off, the quilt won't float, if that is a term. The blue on blue might make some strange shapes that don't add to the pattern. What ever you decide will make a very pretty quilt, with beautiful colors.

I would do the blue, white and flower borders in that order. Real spring feel to your quilt, beautiful.

Beautiful quilt, love the fabrics, that being said, I think using the white as the first border first will make the quilt look like it's melting into the border, instead of being contained. IMHO. I think a VERY NARROW (like 1/2-3/4" - no more than 1" max, finished) lighter purple, green or even the pale blue from the flowers in the focus fabric as a frame, then white and the focus fabric, binding in the dark blue. Or if you don't have the purple, blue or green and don't want to go out and buy some, again, very narrow, but in the dark blue, then the white and focus. But I think the contrasting color will make the center pop more, and it is such a lovely center, it deserves to be made the focal point!

I appreciate all the thought you have all put into this. I currently have a blue inner border, then white border, and then focus outer border on my design wall. It looks pretty good, but I am not doing anything permanently probably until the weekend after work. I don't want to rush into this. I have purple, green, and light blue that would work, and I need to play with it all again. This week is one of those busy ones...but that happens. Can't quilt every day, even though I am semi-retired. :)

Just my opinion I think I'd do a blue border and then white binding.

I think either way will look fine. It's really beautiful. I love the fabrics you've chosen!

Blue border, then a narrow white border then the pretty flowers border. The quilt is very pretty.

Great ideas. Good luck with your borders. Post a photo on your progress please. Love the pattern btw.

I would use the flowered fabric for a small border then I would put on the blue fabric a couple of inches wider.
