Are you kidding me. Every quilt in the make I will be petting the next bundle of fabric I want to work with and many times I get bored with the one I am making if it is a bed size and just push it at the end of my sewing table and start a small lap size quilt finish it and quilt it then come back to the big one and I feel fresh start and energy coming out of me to finish it this time. So you are not alone my dear.

I am so close to finishing the main body of the quilt - two more blocks and a little more on the sashing. I'll have that finished this week (I can only quilt for a few hours of an evening), the STID on the fussy cut border, then the border. So, two weeks at the most. I'm buying fabric this next weekend for my son's quilt so I'll have to finish mine!!

When I reach that point I quite often get the pieces ready for the next project - this usually gets me seriously motivated to complete the one I am working on

I switch projects when I get 'done' with one of them. I don't quilt in that 'ugh' state. it is work, not fun. =/ though, I am making myself do it to finish my kindergarten star. ugh is so

right! ugh is so right. (dial up stinks!)

Janedee, I love your idea! I may need to steal that! ;0)

I'm not exactly tired of the one I'm hand quilting now but I'm looking at patterns for my next quilt. I have some 10" squares and am looking at some quilting books (my DD has a whole stack of them) trying to decide what I want to do with them. I may put the squares up on my quilting wall in the meantime just to get an idea of what they will look like.

Yup! It took me a little over a year to finish my double wedding ring quilt. (small pic in my avatar) Sometimes you just need a break. You'll get in the mood to finish it eventually.

I always have numerous projects in process. If I get tired of working on one or want to do a different step I move to another one. I like having things in different stages so whatever I feel like doing that's what I do. I'm currently doing quilts for foster children and veterans in nursing homes so gives me a good variety of fabric and patterns. Of course I also have to get the queen size one started for grandson's wedding gift in June.

Don't you all know that this is an on going symptom of our disease/obsession? Starting a new quilt (no matter how many UFOs are waiting) is one of the most exciting things to a quilter!!

I am like you, I will not start another quilt, until the last one is completely done. I know me, if I don't finish it then, it will not get finished.

Been there - done that. I recently finished a quilt that had taken me over 2 years to finish. I just didn't like it, so I had to force myself to finish it. When I got it finished, I mailed it to the recepient and she just loved it. I started a quilt immediately after I finished the problem quilt, and it took me 2 weeks to finish it. That is the difference of liking or loathing a quilt. Actually after I finished the problem quilt, I actually did like it
(I guess it grew on me, but it took 2 years - lol)!
