All too often we think we have to keep things "even" rather than "from the Heart" that counts. She'll love getting the yarn.
Wow what nice fabric!!! Glad you both could help each other out!!!
Wow! That's great.
Wow, say thank you for the wonderful blessing.
This happened to a friend of mine. I went over one day and we sorted four copy paper boxes of fabric by color and type. It was fun! At the end of the morning, she kept 3 boxes and insisted I take a fourth one. I ended up with lots of fabric for backs as well as some funky things I have really enjoyed using. Isn't FB great for connecting!
It's great and she will love what you send her. Love the Charlie brown.
Congrats on re-connecting with your friend! Now you both will have supplies for your crafts! :)
Don't worry about QUANTITY; the renewed friendship is what counts.
When it comes from friends its always a wonderful surpise and a WIN WIN.
I think it is great that yall can cross hatch and trade each other something that you no longer need or want. Some times we fall heir to things that are good but is of no use to us. I think it is a great thing yall have going on.
What a WIN WIN situation for the both of you! I have some of those same fabrics! Keep us posted on what you make with all your new goodies!
Souns like a good trade to me. You are both getting something you can use. Diane C.
That is SOOOOOOOOOO sweet! If she didn't think you were worth it, she wouldn't have sent it. Maybe you can make her a little something in return! So glad you've been able to reconnect with someone in the past.
How sweet for both of you, have fun catching up
Wow, that's a nice lot of fabric there. She must not have any need for it or would have kept it. You never know, she may have a lot more she kept for herself. But...if you're still feeling guilty maybe add a gift certificate to a yarn store to the package you're sending her? You wouldn't want any pangs of guilt, however unnecessary, to bother you when using that fabric.
Oh my gosh!!! I am in love with the charlie brown fabric! You lucky duck!! :D
Wow!! Sounds like you really hit the jackpot! First renewing a friendship and then this! It's your lucky day!
How wonderful that y'all were able to reconnect!! This reminds me of at Christmas where you've made something for someone, they give you what they're giving you and then you rethink what you're giving them because you just don't feel that it's enough, but when you do give them your gift, they love it!!
So I'm sure she'll love the yarn and be so thankful that you thought of her.. |

I offerred to send it to her and she said "I have a little bit of material I could trade you for it". So I though ok - but I was willing to give her the yarn for nothing in exchange. I came home today from errands and I had THREE - yes THREE Large Priority Mail boxes on my porch - FILLED WITH MATERIAL. Some of its already cut but 2 of the boxes were nothing but folds of material - nothing less than a yard. I was going to lay it out and take pictures but I'm so over whelmed...Ladies I kid you not this has to be 30 yards of uncut material and over 100 cut squares and 100 cut rectangles. I feel like the yarn I am sending her is no where near worth what she sent me. |
What a great exchange
awesome trade!
A wonderful exchange! Both of you really benefited from this trade for both receive something they will use. Give her an extra hug!
I'll bet she hopes you'll make her a quilt!
That's Cool sounds like she was looking for a good home for all those goodies, glad she didn't just trash it. Send the yarn and later something made with the goodies shared.
Happy Quilting :) |
What an awesome exchange!! Make something for her from some of the material just as a small thank-you gift a table runner, or a small lap quilt!! I'm sure she would love it!!
She is probably thrilled to find someone who really wants the fabric -- you know how we hate to throw out something that some one could really use and would love it like Mom did.

The trade may not seem equal, but she had no use for the fabric and you have no use for the yarn. You both were able to get rid of something that was taking up space in your house. You could always make her something from the fabric and send it to her.
I"m sure that since she is not a quilter, she thinks she also did great in the exchange, you got some great looking fabrics there :D
Lots of novelties! Do you make quilts for charity?
I once got a windfall of fabric like that, and still use it in things-Charity quilts and others for sale or gifts. Never look a gift fabric in the mouth!!! LOL! |
Wow.... that is some great fabric and a wonderful way to share with one another. I would send her the yarn with a "thank you" note. She may feel the same way about the fabric she sent you. Enjoy!
What a wonderful surprise. She'll just be thrilled that it's gone to someone who'll use it so well. Enjoy it.
Congratulations on your stash addition! and connecting with a new/old friend!
How wonderful that you reconnected with a friend. Even trade if she has no use for the fabric and you have no use for the yarn. But more important, friendship renewed.
I'm sure it is a fair trade. She wanted to give you the fabric and you wanted to give her the yarn. Just enjoy the gifts each has given and received. You have blessed eachother very much. Gwyn
I'll trade you some more yarn to send her for the snoopy stash ;)
Wonderful way to re-connect. I too have a friend find me on Face Book we lost track of each other for 38 years. She sent me a quilt kit that she bought and never made as she does not quilt.I plan on makeing a quilt and sending it to her.
Happy Quilting, |
Why is it that she had all this if she doesn't quilt?
you offered her something that you don't use and she does and vise versa...just let her know how grateful you are and enjoy the treasure...i'm sure she's going to be really grateful for the yarn you send her...you can also make her a small quilt with some of the fabric she sent you...a couple of matching mug rugs would be quick and useful....or you can go bigger...your call...but enjoy it!!...
Eureka...you struck gold. she won't mind. i'm certain that she will be happy to get what you have. Also, you can always make her a quilt later. Nothing compares to a home made quilt for a good friend.
