No, my guild is not full of quilt police...though there are one or two. It is just that my quilts always look so different from the others that are shown. It isn't that I want my quilts to look like everyone else's, I just sometimes wonder...I guess I don't know what I wonder. :) ...and I suppose they wonder "Does she ever sew anything besides purple??"
Dina Your instincts have been "right on". |
What's wrong with soft? Your quilt looks very cuddly!

I think you might have used a deeper purple on the small squares.

It's soft looking and very pretty.

"Soft" looks very nice to me. Go for it.

Looks good to me.

Very pretty! I like it. I wouldn't worry about your quilts being different from the other guild members' quilts. Do your own thing and enjoy it.

I like your colors and your display. It is just right

It is beautiful! And I like to shake it up a bit and do new and different things. Hey, they can't all look alike!!!!

I am not sure that is the right question, but I want to make a quilt that isn't bright, where nothing really "pops." (My last two have been so bright that I almost needed sunglasses when I sewed.)
I have laid these five inch blocks on my design wall, and I like it. I even like how the two fabrics tend to blur together. But now I am wondering if it is too "soft," colorwise. I have been looking at it for a day now, and I am ready to actually sew the blocks together....but I am wondering if I am stalling because it is too soft? So, I should proceed, right? If I like it, it doesn't matter what my guild would say about it? (My quilts always seem so different from the others in Show and Tell.) Dina |
