What a great story. It only goes to prove that we quilters can get lots of joy out of scraps. I would love to see a pic of your quilt.

Great idea. Just sew scraps together til you reach the right size.

This is neat - there are several of us here that quilt - we should do this for each other - a box of scraps for each person in our 'group.' and at the end of a year or more say, "Just keep on sewing." to each other. I actually take (when I remember!!) a scrap of each piece from each quilt and add it to a LONG chain of scraps - I will eventually use it somehow to make a quilt - with rows of pieces (I just add strips, not shapes) together with sashing in between or cut them into squares and just piece it together as best I can... :) And then the binding will be the 'leftover' bindings I am also collecting!! :)

TX cutie, another idea for the memory quilt. I buy some fabric each time we take a trip, something to remind me of that place. Right now, it's just part of my stash, but I plan to have a square for each journey (someday).

what a sweet story, Darlene.
You make quilting sound so dreamy...but it is, isn't it?
I dream of quilts day and night

It is unanimous....we want to see pix!

Scrap quilts are so kewl, I love to make the 'crumb blocks' also knows and 'mile-a-minute' blocks...totally scrappy but sometimes I love adding a 'fussy cut' piece into each block.

can't wait to see your photo!
