What I would like to know about popular quilts of today..who came up with all the loud crazy prints .Put together to be a quilt..Some are so busy it takes away from the quilt it's self..They do not have the homey feeling that a quilt use to have..But I know we all have different taste..

Chevrons seem to be everywhere again. Funny, I didn't care for them before and now I find myself drawn to them. As for the solids, I keep a supply of Moda's FQ in solids on hand all the time. They are invaluable in so many situations.

Okay, I just bought Anita Hallock's book from Amazon along with a great deal on 500 embroidery designs. I'm starting to incorporate embroidery into some of my quilt projects which I find really enhances the finished item. Of course I need another book like a hole in the head, but it keeps me out of the bars.

I think that this is the circle of life for wait a time and the new is the old just dressed up. Think of the Simplicity patterns that we threw away years ago! And I gave my daughter a good pair of shoes for her birthday at 64, what she picked out for work was what my mother wore for everyday in the 1930s...but at ten times the price. I am sneaking up on 89 so have hopes pretty soon I will be back in style. Why should quilts be any different?

I wonder when homespun fabric will come in again. Quilters destashing have a lot of it for sale at great prices. Another is quilts made from polyester fabric. Thank goodness homeless shelters like quilts made from it because it is almost indestructible .... as well as dog shelters.

I also have a lot of homespun and am thinking about cutting it up and making a scrap quilt. A lot of it is tan and white, which I think will make a restful quilt or a very boring one!
