I have been hand quilting for about 15 years..off and on...I never heard about your tip of running needle and thread through dryer sheet first. Great tip...thanks much this will help when I am hand quilting Hawaiian style quilts. Kelela

what a handy tip - I use beeswax

I also teach hand quilting and I have heard of this wonderful tip, but I recommend Thread Heaven to my students...in a small blue plastic box and lasts a lifetime. Just run your thread thru it and then fun your fingers down the thread. Does a wonderul job of preventing tangles...the thread repels itself...and I help the shop sell a great notion.

I'm a beekeeper as well as a quilter so I have beeswax on hand. That's what I learned from my Mom and grandmothers. I might try the dryer sheet though.
