Does any one know where I can find the pattern for a Triple wedding ring quilt? This quilt has 1 large center (40-48in)with 3 interlocking rings. then you do a lots of borders around it. My grand mother did one years ago and I always loved it but it is no longer in the family and I would love to make it for my son and daughter-in-law.
I have tried googleing it but no luck yet. Thanks in advance, |
Welcome to the board from Southern California!!!!
I have never made a wedding ring quilt and not sure if I have ever seen a triple one. Hopefully someone on here will be able to help you with finding a pattern. |
I have been doing some searching for you and I'm almost ready to say that it may have been her own design! Do you happen to have a picture of it?
|
No pictures, just remember it is 3 rings joined together the one on top representing god and 2 at the base representing husband and wife. all joined together. It was given to a young minester when he married. (Some 20 years ago); she did the borders round-robin style with a couple of other members of the church. I cannot remember their names.
Thanks for looking, |
Where are our EQ7 experts? I bet they can come up with a pattern!! In the meanwhile I'll keep looking.
I just made a double wedding ring for my son and daughter in law. I'm going to fool around with some rings and see what I get. |
Hi and welcome from the sunny state of Florida!!

check out http://www.quiltworx.com Especially the Wedding Star and the Diamond Wedding Ring patterns. Are those anything like what you are looking for?
I can't figure out how to get a "triple" wedding ring effect unless it's like a Celtic Knot. The Trinity Symbol could be described as a triple ring, also. |

I believe it is a Christian Trinaty but with the rounded edges not the pointed ones. also it was made from small scrapy squares simaler to a double wedding ring.
|
So it just had the trinity symbols scattered all over it or a center medallion of just one? Never mind, I just re-read your original post. Definitely a medallion. It sounds like she just modified a Double Wedding Ring and figured out the intersections of the rings herself. Possibly it was just 3 large circles made up of slightly curved squares appliqued onto a sheet. No "melons" or curves to piece. That would be an easy pattern to draft on paper & would look smashing in a completed top with the right color placement to cause the "linking" of the rings.

There is a method of making a wedding ring quilt that actually has you make the rings separate and interlock them before stitching down on a background. I can't think of the name of it right now, will do more checking.
