we never lost our fabric dept per se. It was downsized quite a bit. We have always had our cutting table. Last time I visited looked like they had expanded the aisle. I asked the woman on duty if they would be bringing fabrics back. She said they are suppose to either the end of the year or beginning of next. I went back in the store a week ago. They had a shelf in the middle of the aisle with some fabric. Looked to be old stuff and nothing I would use for quilting. Guess I will just wait for a few months and check back again

yes, but sadly it is a tiny spot with really terrible fabric. Even my 20yo son held it up and said " geez mom you can see through BOTH layers of this one"!! SAD...

But it is good when you need thread or something basic. I really don't purchase alot of fabric but they are there when in a hurry and everything else is closed!

ROFL ROFL ROFL....

just last evening... I was walking in (in my office clothes, after work...NO QUILT POOP on me!!!) to pick up Rx. The greeter was very cheerful & said "Do you sew a lot?" I said "How can you tell?" She said we have our fabric back & gave me the flyer.

Even tho it was a quick trip in, I was due at the mechanic's, I went & looked.

ROFL

They are just told what is going to show up. Their fabric is very loose weave, made in China, and not pretty at all. So depressing that a big company like that with such a BIG clientele (US), does not get it. I am giving up on them and let them quit selling fabric if they are going to sell junk. :(

I totally agree and understand how you feel. BUT WM is not there to please the masses..they are there to make $$$. THe majority of WM customers can not afford to go to the LQS or buy good quality fabric. SO, WM has its own niche in the sewing/crafting world and this is fine. I do not have to buy their fabric for my GOOD projects there are plenty of other venues for that. BUT many have no other resource and WM is there for them.

At times in the past WM had decent fabric that was great for home dec items, gift bags, crafting, etc. But what they have HERE in our local WM now is not even worthy of that!

I just bought 8 yards at Wal-Mart yesterday. The lady cutting it screwed up and when I got to the checkout that's when I found out. They tried to fix it and did very nicely.
They gave me 8 yds. of fabric ($29) and a $10 gift card. So my eight yards cost me $19. WHHHHHHAAAAAAA HOOOOOOO
