I've never seen this technique - thanks for posting the video - this is on my to-do list! Love projects that look complicating but are really simple. Plus it uses jelly rolls, even better!

This is what I'm working on, except I turned them into wallhangings. I am adding buttons as ornaments and presents.

Made a tube quilt earlier this year, in blacks and white, will post a pic when I get back from visiting grandkids (camera is packed). I haven't put a border on it yet.
