We have those quilting shows here on PBS, but what happend to the quilting and craft shows that the Home and Garden channel used to have?? The one with Alex was on everyday, but not anymore. And what happen to the craft Queen, she hasn't been on TV for ages?

And the thing with the clicker....I know how that is. My hubby has control when he is home. He watches the History Channel, the war channel, the History internation channel, the weapons channel ... it sounds like world war 2 when he watchs TV at night - until 8:00, then he has to go to the network channels or I won't stay in the family room, I go to my shop. I control the TV there! But I really don't mind because I get to stay out in my shop a little longer. AND if I really want to mess with him, all I have to do is change something on the remote control and he is lost! He is tech-challanged! He has come downstairs early to watch TV and if I hit the wrong button or something and the remote won't work, he will come and wake me up to fix it! So I don't do that if I want to sleep in on Saturdays. But it sure is fun to get even with him sometimes! HeHe!!

On direct TV Eleanor Burns is on on Wednesday at 1:30 PM RFD (345) on my dirctory)

and CREATE channel has some.

I just looked it up. Thank you. I have now programmed to have 9403 tape the Fons and Porter shows....by the way it shows at 3:00 am or 3:30 am (varies) in Washington State and again at 8:00 am

We, too, live in Wa. We also get Direct TV because Dish didn't offer what we both wanted. We get Fons & Porter, Creative Arts, Quilt in a Day and Sewing with Nancy. We used to also get Kaye Wood and a couple from Sue Hausman. We don't get those anymore. Do you suppose they went to Dish???lol Can you get a friend neighbor to record them for you?? Or send hubby to cook dinner while you watch YOUR shows. lol

I just found this week QNNtv.com (hope that's right) that has tons of quilt shows on line like Sewing with Nancy, Fons and Porter, Kay Wood and Quilt in a Day. It is approx $40 a year and you can watch them on your computer anytime you want. I really like it.

Thanks for the info on Fon's and Porter, I set my dvr and watched last night and is was on again a 6am and 10am this morning.

Thank you so much for posting these instructions!! I didn't know how to do that and I tried it and what do you know it found the Fons and Porter show is on EVERYDAY!!! So now I have my TVO set to record these shows so I can watch them at my convenience. I watched the first one last night and fell asleep half way thru so this morning tried again and watched it. Will have another one recording this evening again. Thanks so much. I like Eleanor Burns but she is on once a week. Now I have a quilting show I can watch everyday.

No, it's something you have to order separately. I can't get TV with an antenna where I live and I had DirecTV when I first moved but changed to Dish because they offered local channels for a small extra premium.

My PBS station carries the quilting/sewing shows from 7 am to 9 am on Saturdays.

I found it!!! In Spokane Washington it is channel 231 and is on at ll:30 am. I am taping all episodes from now on!!! Thank you so much. It's title is "Quilt in a Day"

We have cable and don't get any quilting or sewing shows anymore. LPB has discontinued all of them. HGTV has also discontinued "my" quilting shows.

Nancy, My dH had a small TV in the shed also but does not have a receiver out there so it was all blurry so He said i could use it and i ordered another receiver for my sewing room. It is great.

Check your local PBS stations on DISH. In our area, 3 quilting programs are on Saturday mornings. I miss a lot of them, because weekends are busy. HGTV used to have many quilting programs, but they have gone by the wayside.

If you have high speed Internet you can watch a lot of shows online. Eleanor Burns and Kaye Wood have free videos on their sites. Quilters TV has a lot of free programs. Alex Anderson and Quilters Club of America have programs but you need a paid membership to view them. In my area there is Sewing With Nancy, Fons and Porter, and Quilting Arts on PBS.

Try "www.thequiltshow.com" with Alex Anderson and Ricky Tims. Alex use to host "Simply Quilts" on TV, but moved to doing shows in the internet. The site has heaps of great info too. Give it a go.

Quilt In A Day is only on Wednesdays at 1:30 (central time) on RFD channel on Direct TV.

WEll try RFD Tv and see what they have on there,go to the library and look for some of the DVD's on quilting, also PBS has Fons & Porter with a mother daughter team that is ok. Then right after that is Sewing with Nancy. Eleanor Burns is usually on RFD TV.

We have satellite TV too. but due to an accident from space (lightening ) we needed a new box and it came with another control, so now we each have our own and can change the stations when we want as long as he gets he wrestling on the week end and the cricket I don't mind.

When we got DISH they had several on DIY and some of those channels. Now they don't have ANY. All they do is tear up houses and rebuild them! As far as I know, the PBS station has a show has a couple. Oh and also, RFDTV carries Quilt in a Day, but here in OK, it comes on at around 2:30 am. Sometimes I record it or not!lol

RFD has Elanore Burns and BYU has Fons and Porter.

But your best bet are the Quilting Shows in the Internt.
Click on the "search" category at the top of this page and
type in Quilting Shows on Internet -Most of the"Super Quilters" are there and its FREE.
Give "Hubby" his clicker - but you keep the mouse.

Click on the menu button, then click themes & search,
then make sure All Themes is mark, click keyword,
on search by: click info, then type in the keyword quilt, sewing, click done, click get results! It will bring up all shows that have "quilt or sewing" in the title or description for the next week! I do this all the time and then set the DVR to record shows to watch later my hubby isn't around.
This brings up shows that aren't about learning to sew/quilt but history shows or specials on quilts! Good Luck searching!
