Hen3rietta 04-27-2011 12:19 PM

Like all young ladies, I stopped counting at 29.

LoriEl 04-27-2011 12:19 PM

Let's just say A LOT and leave it at that! Most are tops waiting to be quilted or quilted waiting for binding. There are a few still in pieces, though. I can think of four I started and never even finished making the blocks for one reason or another. There are probably a few more in pieces hidden away that I forgot about, too.

Just Me... 04-27-2011 12:25 PM

I refuse to answer. I was told in elementary school to never put anything in writing that you didn't want to come back on you later.

So, if my hubs is reading....my answer is "I do not recall"

I will say the number is shameful!

Motorcyclemad 04-27-2011 12:27 PM

NUMEROUS!--- I will just leave it at that.

GreatStarter 04-27-2011 12:28 PM

Gulp, I stopped counting when the number got very large. Let's say I just pray it's way under 100. This is including all my crafting projects, not just quilting projects.... Many are just books or patterns I bought to make someday.

LucyInTheSky 04-27-2011 12:29 PM

I figured I had about 20 total projects, including finished quilt tops that are awaiting quilting. Yeah, when I went through and counted, I have 20 finished TOPS and many more in process.

DA Mayer 04-27-2011 12:40 PM

do you count the ones you have fabric for but never started?
Sorry to say i have a few too many.

okiepastor 04-27-2011 12:40 PM

ARRGGHHH-what a question! Cause we should not lie, right?

I just sent out 26 tops for charity quilts, so I think that now I am down to under 40 UFOs. BUT it would really scare me to actually count them........

ruck9085 04-27-2011 12:43 PM

How about I just say "enough". Okay?

Prism99 04-27-2011 12:50 PM

I am embarrassed to say I don't know exactly. A lot.

Jrrich 04-27-2011 12:51 PM

I'm with you!!

tinliz 04-27-2011 01:01 PM

DA Mayer
You can put those that are not even started in separate category called PIGS (project in a grocery sack). :) Those that you are working on are WIPS. That should cut down on your UFO's. Me I have too many of all three. Ran out or fingers and tows to do the count a long time ago. :)

Vanessa17 04-27-2011 01:25 PM

this is my answer as well

I'm not counting! :)

Barb44 04-27-2011 01:55 PM

2 UFOs, 1 WIP, 2 PIGs, lots of ideas. One UFO I just have to finish quilting the border and bind it. The other UFO is a partially pieced double wedding ring that I started about 10 years ago. Have to finish current WIP for graduation gift May 14. I usually have a purpose for every project before I start. My bed has been waiting for the double wedding ring.

quiltyfeelings 04-27-2011 02:01 PM

I have 3 quilted and needing binding.
12 to be quilted (some are for customers.... I should get off QB and get to work!)
2 half-pieced

so, wise words from Tigger, "TTFN. ta-ta for now!"

Maride 04-27-2011 02:06 PM

I used to have a lot. Right before school started I reduced it to zero. Now that all my stash is here, I am back up to 5. Not much, but there is a reason I stopped them from the beginning. I start this very involved projects and loose interest. Then one day I start again and can't stop until all done. Hoping here for a bit of inspiration.

Kat Sews 04-27-2011 02:07 PM

2 ufo's waiting to be quilted. one WIP on the quilting frame, one wip still at the sewing machine, one P.I.G. ready to start cutting.

Rose L 04-27-2011 02:08 PM

I have one hand quilted that still needs binding.
Two tops that are finished and waiting to go on the LA frame.
Two tops that I'm working on. One, DD2's graduation and the other, DD1's third baby.

I have lots of PIGS, though not in grocery bags, since I just went on a 12 days long shop hop! Never enough PIGS in my opinion. Heee!

Sandee 04-27-2011 02:21 PM

I wanted to do a Christmas Star quilt last year for us, but never got past the first block as it was rather puckery. I never did get to try again as one of my GD's put in a special request for Christmas & I was hard-pressed to get it done & shipped. I've been building baby quilts ever since. One more & I get to rest for now & work on other projects!:-)

maryb119 04-27-2011 02:29 PM

I have less than I had 5 months ago. I am not working right now so I have been finishing some of my UFO's. I have never counted tham because I really didn't want to know the exact number. Some things don't need to be counted.

craftoholic 04-27-2011 02:31 PM

LOL... I love the "PIGS"......
as I read it to DH, he giggled and said.. you have PIP's... "Projects in Piles"...... yep u got it.. he got a dirty look.....LOL

I'm refuse to answer this question hee hee

Joanie2 04-27-2011 03:23 PM

I started counting just what was on my sewing table and then added what I could think of in the dresser and then the closet -- just in my sewing room and that number was 20. Then I started thinking about what is in my walk-in quilt closet -- 6 hanging up waiting to be quilted, at least 6 where the pattern is planned and the fabrics are with it but no cutting has been done. And then I looked up to the boxes that are clearly marked...I've gotta stop counting or I will feel so guilty I won't want to start another project. And if I did that I wouldn't be supporting my LQS, Joanne's and on-line shopping. So I'm not going there anymore. Problem is I don't want to give any of them up. See what you started!

FQ Stash Queen 04-27-2011 03:26 PM

One that is totally hand pieced and that I am now about 3/4 completed hand quilting. Two thru the Board. About 7 already cut out and in some stage of WIP. About 10 more with either kits or all the fabric and pattern put in one place together. EEEEKSs. I better get back to something and get off of the addiction.

Jim's Gem 04-27-2011 03:46 PM

I'm not counting them any more!!!!!

dd 04-27-2011 04:41 PM

Gee, I only have 3. You all make me feel good now. I have a couple different ones that I'm working on but 3 that I have put away for now.

the casual quilter 04-27-2011 04:44 PM

Don't ask. I'm not sure my brain can comprehend the number.

Close to 40 and I have 2 months to get them completed. Yick's I gotta vet busy.

Shelbie 04-27-2011 05:23 PM

My goal the first year that I retired was to finish all of my UFO's. I am now on year three and still have two very large Rubbermaid containers of completed tops, a bin of completed blocks and numerous shoe boxes of partially completed tops which I haven't counted. I have been finishing one UFO a month (guild challenge) and have given away a pile of quilts with another pile ready to go. I have emptied and finished a large bin and several smaller ones and have continued to make steady stitching progress. When will I finish? Who knows!

katier825 04-28-2011 01:44 AM

Gee, that's almost like asking a woman how much she weighs! LOL

I've only had one UFO and gave it away because I knew I'd never finish it.

I prefer to call my unfinished projects WIPs because I fully intend to finish them someday. I've got several in various stages of completion. I don't have a sewing room, so when I work, I tend to do more than one project so I can keep going. What I mean is that when I'm set up to piece, that's what I work on. Whatever needs piecing. When I rearrange the dining room so I can quilt, I try to do more than one while I've got it set up. It doesn't always happen though.

zennia 04-28-2011 02:34 AM

Many but lately i have been busy finishing some up. Right now I am refusing to buy more fabric or patterns. I am totally out of space to put them.By summers end I hope to have room to buy more.

Aurora 04-28-2011 03:27 AM

More than 5 but less than 10 or 12

KyKaren1949 04-28-2011 03:33 AM

I just finished one of mine this week. I have 5 more actually in progress. I made up my mind last month, there would be NO purchases of a single thing until I finish these up. I do have fabric in containers complete with patterns to make quilts that I haven't even started on. I'm NOT going to count those! LOL They're next though after I finish these 5. I don't have the space to store all this stuff.

mcar 04-28-2011 04:17 AM

I have just completed a labor intensive quilt.I am taking a break from a serious project undertaking, but planning ahead. I have material cut but need to clear the dining room table after birthdays this weekend, so with a couple of days to kill, I am cutting fabric for two more quilts so they are ready to go.

QuiltMom2 04-28-2011 04:21 AM

I decided I would 'fess up!! Currently five, not including the major WIP. I think I need to learn to machine quilt or something!!

reginalovesfabric 04-28-2011 04:44 AM

I counted 35 when I cleaned up my fabric room
