she sure didn't expect you to say anything to her. KUDOS to you. Sometimes we just have to let our parents know that even though we are their little girl/boy, that we are grown ups now and do things the way WE WANT.

My mom called me a few times this morning and I didn't answer them and I almost didnt answer the last call but decided I would and she yelled at me in the phone and said "Why in the He** do you have a phone if your not going to answer it?" And I told her "because Im trying to finish up the quilt Im cheating on and didn't want to listen to you bitc* at me about it" and I hung up the phone. So shes not happy with me either. But thats okay. It actually felt good. LOL. And she hasn't called me back!!!! Aw that felt so good.

I just wish I could of had your strenght years ago, I just avoided even living close to my mom for that very reason to say hay this is mine. Nothing I did was go enough, Now she's gone I am sad for the lose of things that could have been better between us. She will come back to you and both of you will be happier..God Bless

My mom wasn't combative, but was critical all my life until she was in her 80's and needed me to take care of her. In her latter years, I could do no wrong. It was a strange, but very welcome change. I am grateful that we "ended" on a peaceful and loving note. In reflection I can see how insecure she was, and how she resented my independence and self-assurance.
I would advise avoiding your mother's confrontations. Just hang up if she gets abusive. Ignore her if she says ugly things in front of others. Leave her out of any and all plans, trips, & events that you can. "Divorce" her, at least temporarily. Eventually she will get the message. |

My 40+ DD lives next door with her family, but whenever we go out on errands and stuff, I always ask her if she needs to go potty first! So now SHE asks ME and we both laugh. |
