Where is a good online shop to buy varigated thread?

erstan947 11-08-2010 10:20 AM

I did a brief search and didn't have much luck. You might also try in your search Multi color thread.

diamondee 11-08-2010 10:30 AM

try www.connectingthreads.com I was told about this site from a fellow quilter.

They don't have it.

amma 11-08-2010 10:36 AM

I bought 2 large amounts of them on ebay that are 100% polyester, good for quilting or machine embroidery. They are 1000m spools, for a little over $1 each. They have a beautiful sheen to them, too :D:D:D

No name brand, but in the 3 years I have been using them, it has been without any problems. I purchased them from two different sources, but I don't remember the sellers.
I guess what I am saying is if you don't mind polyester thread, you can find wonderful deals there :D:D:D

chiaraquilts 11-08-2010 10:38 AM

I love the King Tut varigated threads, you can get them at www.superiorthreads.com

dungeonquilter 11-08-2010 10:38 AM

I have ordered varigated from them in the past, but don't think they carry it anymore. Will be sad when I run out.

PurplePassion 11-08-2010 10:58 AM

Yes, you would think a place called Connecting threads would carry a lot more variety.

Lori S 11-08-2010 11:01 AM

I agree for great threads particulaly varigated , Superior Threads has my business.

I was just going to suggest that. Thanks

MadQuilter 11-08-2010 11:09 AM

I use variegated thread from Star (made by Coats and Clark) I usually get mine at Beverly's but I have seen it online too.

lazyquilter 11-08-2010 01:29 PM

I use the King Tut a lot and I love it, But I also adore the Aurilfil threads as well. Once I fine something that gives me what I am looking for, I kinda keep using those so I may be missing a lot more out there that is possibly better and/or cheaper. But sometimes cheaper causes more problems in the lint, etc. and the more then necessary cleaning out of the bobbin area.

JoAnn's Fabrics has some selections of varigated thread, though not a huge amount. I recently bought pink/purple and yellow/orange. That was as close as I could get to what I was really looking for--pink/brown and they had a few others.
