A Very Different Stack and Whack
 

I started this project in a class several years ago and just found it while trying to get organized. It is a stack and whack that I have not ever seen on the board. I do not know the name of the pattern but it was quite interesting. Let me know your thoughts. The colors are not too accurate. I also need an opinion on the borders as I need to enlarge the quilt. I am going to use contrasting corner stones in the borders. Let me know what you think.

The print fabric in the border is a complimenting print of the triangle fabric

That is really different, thanks for sharing. I haven't ever seen one done using that method.

It's called Ribbon Weave and it's in Bethany Reynolds' book Stack-n-whackipedia. I made one and posted it earlier this year - http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...e-t228720.html. They're fun to make - I love the one you made.

That is a cool one. I saw the top and immediately thought of a green border so as not to distract from the center.

I've done this one too -- love your fabric -- what great variety! Great for using with flowers -- mine is Hawaiian flower print. This pattern is VERY fast and has no bias, so easy to keep everything squared. Glad you posted this!

Dunster yours is very pretty too, I must have missed when you posted it. I might have to try one of these.

I love what you have done, it is so pretty. I have never seen that pattern before it looks like it would be fun to do.

Very unusual quilt. I liked Dunster's so much I ordered the book the pattern is in.

If you are wanting the quilt larger, I would think about adding a dark green or one of the other darker colors in the quilt as a stopper border (1" or less), then add the 3 borders you are considering (making the print fabric wider), then go to a last border the same as whatever you chose for the stopper border. By adding so much light colors at the edge of the quilt, you may lose your impact for the gorgeous piecing you did in the center.

This pattern is at the top of my to do list. I love the effect and not having to deal with bias edges is a big plus.

I had never seen that done before. I'm amazed at the creativity of quilters to put a different spin on an established quilt pattern!!
