I have something similar. Its a bird on a nest with the wording scissor nest. It has a place to put a smaller pair of scissors. So cute. I got it at an auction.

SA=Salvation Army thrift store. You may need to search Japanese figurine manufacturers. There were many ceramics imported from Japan in the 50's. Some of them had JAPAN painted on the bottom. Others had a glued label with the company name and Japan. The glue needed to be wet with water to stick.

What a fun collector's item. I will have to keep my eyes open at Estate and yard sales... You never know what you might find in Maine.
