Vintage Sewing Caddies

1 Attachment(s)
Ever since I came across sewing caddy, I have been on the hunt to find out more information about these sweet vintage sewing caddies. There are several of them each a different girl, which has a retractable measuring tape, pincushion, & scissors. Anyone out there know anything about these sweet ceramic girls, such as manufacture, year they are from, or where I might find some of them. I have looked at the usual websites but no luck. Need more information please!

My MIL made things similar to this in her ceramics class.

My friends and I made several of these when we were into ceramics. At one time, they were a very popular item to make so you might start checking out garage sales, flea markets and thrift stores.

She is so cute! They would be fun to collect. I don't remember seeing them before.

adorable. Its more fun going on a treasure hunt in a flea market/thrift store if you have something to hunt for......whether you need it or not.

I just googled "ceramic sewing girl" and got a ton of hits. A lot for sale on eBay for as little as $5.

Yes, but did you find this particular one?

I have at least 2 similar to this one, I bought them from eBay. Love to look at them. And the grandchildren love to play with them, carefully. I figure they are 1950's era.

Do your items that you bought on EBay have a manufacture's name indicated on them or other makings of any kind?

I looked on both of my figures. No markings.

Here's a picture of both of them. I haven't seen the one you have. It's a real treasure.
