Okay here are a few things I have been working on since Thursday night. Also in the process of sewing the binding on "Lazy Sunday" Bonnie Hunters from Quiltmaker Magazine mystery quilt. I forgot I need to put a couple of labels on 2 quilts for our Guilds quilt show this coming week so better do that before I do anymore today :)

I'm working on garters for my daughter's wedding, one for her to keep and one for her future husband to throw. One done and one to go. Only 27 more days until the wedding and then I can get back to quilting. (For some reason it won't let me post the picture.)

FrustratedQuilter, I love your envelopes quilt and Halloween Bowtucks bag!

Plumtree, a little girl is going to love the pink quilt and the other one will love the sheep quilt, nice job on both!

Greencat, I like your Runaround bag, it's really cute.

2nd table topper done, this picture is a truer picture for the color. On to the larger table topper of the same style.

Absolutely love your scrappy quilt!

Lovely eye candy, everyone. And I now have some ideas for future projects. Thank you. I finished piecing the snowball 4 patch, and have a bit more done on Afternoon Delight. But I'm tired right now so think I will call it a day. I've enjoyed participating and hope we do something like this really soon again. It gave me the push I needed to get sewing again.

Oh, I almost forgot. I finished this little baby today also. I already had it sandwiches, so just needed to SID and do the binding. I have another 4 runners to do similar to this one, and this is a kind of prototype. Next time I think I'll put in 4 nine patches instead of just three as this one is a bit short.

I have not sewed in months. I am still working on my quilting studio and have all my things packed up to move over there. I have had a lot of problems and it could still be a while before it is done.

I did a sequence of two little butterflies in different spots on the baby quilt as a way to 'tie' it. The backing is flannel.

The thinner strips were donated and they are most of the leftovers from a bigger rail fence quilt. I added some extra colors from my stash.

I forgot how to resize my pictures. Sorry for the large size.

I've been diligently cutting apart Grandma's dresses! Allllllmost done - just working on a mountain of 2-1/2 strips now. I feel like I am getting a LOT more fabric than I anticipated, which is a good thing!

Got 20 of my stained glass blocks together. The 8 on the right are also together. Done for tonight, have to get up early in the morning. Have a good night all.

QltrSue, luv the black hat idea. Found a couple snowflake patterns today that might work, but the black hat would be much easier to piece :)

Well, I did not get as much done as I wanted, I still need to sew the center pieces together and place the vertical strips in the middle. We had to go over to the SIL's so DH could help him fix the brakes on their truck. Ended up staying for dinner. Did get some Grand baby time so consider it a win win. Well need to spend time with DH tonight. I should be able to finish this tomorrow.

It was nice to see all the projects I had a fun time this weekend.

Cybrarian 09-29-2013 06:40 PM

Too late to take a picture I'm writing this in bed, DH is already sleeping ☺️, didn't get to sew until tonite, but finished quilting fall table topper and started the binding. I must work really slow because I am amazed at how much others accomplished this weekend. Really enjoyed reading about and looking at what everyone is working on. Great projects! Night all!

WooHoo!!! My niece and her husband's wedding quilt is done...only a month after the wedding. I did only have a month's notice...so I'm blaming that.
It's just a sofa throw...about a twin size...in her colors.
Don't look to close...the cornerstones are not matching on all of the corners....

Had the grandkids visit for awhile today but still got a good start on the Frosty the Snowman throw. Got everything cut out ready to sew together (except borders)...notice the empty square in bottom right corner? The Frosty panels are from fabric that was intended to make a fabric book, but wanted to convert into a throw instead, but it is one story page short, lol! Anyone have any ideas what I could make to put in this square? Any and all ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanx in advance :D

Love your Frosty quilt with the attic window pattern. I would applique a big snowflake in that empty block. Too cute!

Quilter7x 09-29-2013 07:37 PM

LOVE the stained glass quilt, that is really nice.

SusieT, your niece and new hubby are going to love their quilt as well

I have finally finished all three table toppers, just 20 minutes before the stroke of midnight! :D

This has been such a fun virtual quilting weekend; I hope we all do it again soon!

Here is my latest project, taken entirely too long to complete. I ran out of the blue and light blue in the star blocks, so could only make 12 blocks. It was supposed to be a stash buster for charity, and as it turned out it busted 2 fabrics from my stash. I'm not a lover of flying geese or HSTs or QSTs. I don't like making them, but I love the outcome.

What beautiful quilts. Sorry I wigged out on you guys, son showed up yesterday afternoon, announcing that he got a deer this morning, can he use our kitchen facilities, of course, I said that was fine. He showed up at nine this morning, and we finally finished everything by six thirty tonight(140 lbs dressed). We have my little freezer half full: ribs, tenderloin, back strap, hamburger, top round roasts, bottom round roasts, sausage(not in freezer, still curing in frig), jerky marinating, and 6 gallons of venison broth. Oh yeah, and tri tip. So I ended up not quilting.

justflyingin 09-29-2013 09:27 PM

I ended up helping one lady on Friday morning sandwich her quilt and showed her how to quilt it. Then, came home to fix lunch/dinner. Then, after that was over, I went back to another lady and showed her how to make the professional tote, lesson 1. So, I didn't get to my own sewing til the evening. I finished two of the charity quilts I posted.

Then I worked on some patriotic 9 patch blocks and put them into strips. Will end up finishing up a patriotic quilt for the back of my couch. (I never get in the mood in time for the Fourth of July to actually finish anything.)

And now, I'm working on clearing out a few more of my 9 patch blocks, so I made about 30 more on Saturday. I showed the lady I helped on Friday, how to make a binding on her quilt, which then took most of the rest of Sunday.

1 top finished

wow, there's a lot of beautiful sewing been going on.
I did get a top finished, not one I intended, but as I had bought a freece blanket on friday, I decided this one had priority. I had bought some rib cord (corduroy??) some years (!) ago, so it was about time LOL.
So it'll nog be a real quilt, as it's just the top and the blanket :-)
Here are two pictures of the top (Amy, my French bulldog, is like cats, always has to be on the quilt or fabric LOL).
I loved sewing 'together' although I was without internet part of the weekend and had some unexpected guest. Thanks for organising this.

Didn't get near as much done as planned. Car died at grocery store, had to have it towed (flatbedded) home. Got some sewing done Sat. SIL came over Sat. night to fix the car. Normally I'm in bed by 9 on Sat. 'cause I have to be at work at 6 Sun a.m. but didn't get to bed 'til after 10. I'd just gotten home from work Sun. when power went out for about an hour, so took a nap 'cause I was tired from not enough sleep Sat night. Then Internet was out because of the power outage & I didn't know how to fix it. But I finished all the blocks and sewed the top 2 rows together. This a.m. I found out what to do to get the Internet back, but also found out no one could call me--all they got was static. I'm been having phone problems since I moved here 3 weeks ago. Talked to ATT AGAIN--a tech will be out sometime before 7PM tonight. I'm not working today so am going upstairs to sew. :) If all goes as planned, I'll post a picture of the top tonight. Hopefully all the glitches I had this weekend are over and done with by now!

Well, I finally have a phone that works and I can receive calls. Yeah! It seems all the glitches I had over the weekend are finally ending. I finished sewing the quilt top today. Now I need to graph out the back. The back of the T-shirt has a listing of all the players on the team that I want to use on the back, along with a couple of extra blocks. So now to graph paper and pencil to design the layout of the backing. Hopefully, that will happen tomorrow.

I love Virtual Quilt Weekends! I think these are my favorite thing on the board. I didn't get to participate in this one, as hubby was in the hospital, but I love seeing what everyone else is working on.

I'm a week late, but here's what I'm working on today... machine quilting some sashings, freehand. (FMQ) As long as I draw the curves beforehand, I can freehand the rest.

kwiltkrazy 10-06-2013 02:50 PM

beautiful top, and the quilting is very nice too.
