Hmm…was going to post a photo of my machine appliqué that I worked on yesterday, but my ipad updated to 17.1.1 last night, and now when I try to upload a photo, there is no option showing under the picture for actual size, etc….. ugh! Oh well won’t have much stitching time today with babysitting but will check in later, and hope to see others projects.

Well, 3 yards was not enough for the background! I can see that I am going to run out before even getting to the sashing! I hope I don't have to wait a week for it to get here. --I ordered more Glow in Dark while I was at it. Any non-Halloween ideas?
This is a screenshot of the right half of my planner sheet. I wasn't sure if I wanted 6" squares or 5". Chose 6".
(Main color -high; center-low)
I chose my birthdate for each year, and it works because of living in south Texas. The temperatures are unpredictable. "If you don't like the weather, wait 10 minutes!"

aashley333--are you asking for ideas for backing for your temperature quilt?

Rff1010--you've found lots of friends to quilt with :)

Iceblossom--leaving notes on where you are on a project WITH the project is extremely helpful. I've learned that the hard way. Sounds like you have a busy rest of the weekend planned.

Logcabin82--hope you feel better soon

Dedemac--you had a very busy day yesterday! We watched a movie last night too--A Man Called Otto. Really good movie.

Yesterday flew right by for me. Was in kitchen much of day cooking and then cleaning .We brought up some of the Christmas decorations Brought the rest up today. I took down the Thanksgiving ones. I did spend a brief time in sewing room yesterday after I returned from quilt shop sale--batiks for $6/yard. I'm just not sure where I'm going to put 45 more yards of fabric! One of my tasks this afternoon. My husband is planning to watch the Ohio State/Michigan game this afternoon so probably will stay upstairs while he's doing that!

thimblebug, same thing happened to me today (after that update) but there is a way to resize your photo. It will take a little
detective work ..... lol ...... when you go to pick your photo from your photo library at the bottom of the photo page there is a button that says Options, click on that and a page appears, look for the section that says size. Full size is always checked but under that is Large, Medium, Small, check the medium and your photo should be small enough to fit the forum requirements.

Wow, thimblebug, the applique looks great. Glad I could be of help.

I've been happily sewing today. I've been working on putting my Jewel Box Star blocks into rows and working on clue one of Bonnie Hunter's Winter mystery. And I have even found some evening time to work on my "forever" hexie project.

It's been a very productive day!

1-scrappy brown is bound
2- floral scrappy is bordered.
3- MIL Christmas Tshirt quilt is done. I went to JoAnns for the black Friday sale and got some fleece for backing. Gonna just envelope inside-out and do minimal quilting - just enough to keep it together. If anyone has thoughts or advice - never done it before - all words appreciated.
4 - took the Christmas scraps and made some 5" squares and HSTs. Going to make into mug rug/ gift labels. Can I use regular batting scraps (80-20) or do I need insul-bright?

Yeah- my peeps - a very productive day. Feeling stuck on 3 & 4 so this is why I have friends.

I've never made a t-shirt quilt so I'm afraid I'm no help on that! As for the mug rugs, I've always just used batting scraps for them. Hope that helps.

Raggiemom, I've only used fleece on baby quilts so I can't give advice on anything larger. Just remember there is alot of stretch from selvage to selvage and not as much lengthwise. I use regular batting (Warm and Natural or 80/20) in my mug rugs and have never had a problem. If I am making hot pads for the table I use a layer of both Insulbrite and batting.

I was able to finish my 3D cube quilt and trimmed the edges. Located yardage in my stash for a backing and chose and binding as well. I'm trying to decide how I want to machine quilt it so for now it's on the design wall while I ponder the possibilities.

Raggiemom, I ordered the Glow in Dark while placing order for more fabric to finish Temp Quilt. I'm always thinking 2 quilts ahead. And, I'm so jealous of your batik purchase.
I finished the 6 rows for Temp Q and ordered sashing. Called to try to rush order, but cutters aren't in til Monday.
Since order arrived for next pixel quilt, I'll wash and starch fabrics to cut into 1.25" squares.
