Bringing up the rear here girls. I love the projects you girls are showing. So much work and inspiration to see them. So, thanks for showing.
Here is one of the feathers quilt blocks. A trial so to speak. I have three others finished. I have all of the background white cut out and am working on the colors of the birds. I am using all my old stash to make this quilt, so it will be very scrappy.
I also made my second block for the BOM by Elenore burns. Some of the members here are making the blocks and sharing the results on a thread.

Yaaay - all done with my Northwoods Improv! It all started with the longhorn cattle quilt and exploded from there. Apparently I am not an Improv type of girl because figuring out sizes of pieces to fit into and with other pieces was a bear. Thanks to those of you on this board who helped me at the last Virtual weekend. The quilt ended up at 55 x 65 and I decided that it was too big to wrestle it through my little Kenmore so I had my first experience with sending it out for long-arming. Jill at Millie P's was great to work with and did a wonderful job. The quilt is for my daughter who has a really big empty wall in her entry; she and her husband live in the woods with a view over a valley and enjoy hunting and fishing so I thought this would fit well. She likes muted colors, so here's what I ended up with.

beautiful finish ArtsyOne...looks like many got a lot accomplished this weekend. The weather was beautiful here in Maine so I spent Labor Day weekend outdoors. : )

Well, after completing my wonky quilt I was really feeling motivated to move on to the pinwheel one I wanted to do. I got it all cut out before lunch, took a break for a sandwich and jumped back in. But when I started sewing the first pinwheel, it didn't take me long to realize that I had cut all the rectangles for making HSTs wrong. Ughhhh! And to make matters worse, I didn't have enough of the original fabric to recut. So I spent the rest of the afternoon searching through my stash for suitable substitutes ( I'm one fabric shy and will have to make a trip to shop) and cutting what I had to work with.
I think I was excited to get started and didn't double check my math before I cut. So lesson learned. Tomorrow is another day.

I'm sorry, that sucks! I've definitely been there. Can you use the cut fabric for another project, as-is?

I love the Seuss quilt! And sarge1, I think the aqua is perfect :)

I finished my mini-quilt thanks to the spot-on tutorial I was sent about inside corners. The joining-curved-binding part proved to be beyond me (I cut the binding when I thought I knew what I was doing, but I didn't, and then it was pretty short), so I just did the tuck-under-sew-down method, and it mostly worked. (And I don't think I'll be cutting an inside corner this steeply any time soon!)

I still have plenty to learn, but it feels good to get another project completed :) Thanks raggiemom for starting the Quilt Along, and everyone who participated :)

I managed to use some of the cut too short pieces by robbing Peter to pay Paul from other pinwheels. Then filled in those with fabric from stash. So not all wasted. But will still need another gray to use as background for 7 pinwheels. Not all that bad. Just a lot more cutting to do:o
