Just in time for Christmas. Now I'm ready to take a couple days before I start the baking!

I am in ufo reduction mode. I also need to straighten up my sewing area. I finished one ufo yesterday and I hope to finish at least two more by the end of tomorrow.

What I'm working on this morning is going to be finishing up the 2-inch hexies into a bar quilt of sorts. I'm having such a hard time finding the floral print that I'm putting that on the back burner, I have enough pieces to make a quilt that will go across the top of the bar, plus a couple of flowers will be converted into hot pads. It's not that often, but we do have guests that come for lunch or dinner and I use the bar to put all the dishes out to create a buffet.

The one-inch batik hexies, I just started a few days ago. I'm going to be using a path of black diamonds and triangles to bring them together. I'm not sure yet what size that one will be, I just love the batiks so much that I'm having fun just sewing hexies together, lol. The diamond templates will be here later today, once they show up I'm going to cut down some scraps into hexies and diamonds so I can get the technique down before I start in on the actual quilt, I won't have any black fabric until after the first of the year. Thank you for starting this. It's been a while since I participated.

I love all the projects that have been started. I'm winding up packing and delivering Christmas presents, none of which are quilting themed. This year I made several jars of rainbow friendship soup mix -- they look so festive! And several baked items. So... this afternoon I'll be able to begin on the 4th clue of Bonnie Hunter's Frolic mystery. I also need to count the pieces in the first three steps as I think I might be missing some, so I can get caught up. If I have time I'll also quilt a couple of small quilts that have been on the shelf too long.

Railroaderbrat, I love your hexes! They are beautiful.

Will look for you all at New Year's... much too busy to sew before Christmas. Hope you all are well and have a Merry Christmas!

Someone asked me for the link to the Garden Gate Plaids quilt pattern so I thought I'd share it here. Scroll down a few messages to see photos I posted of the blocks for this quilt. It's a free pattern from Andover Fabrics.

I am still plugging away at my panel quilt "Serenity". Over 80 hours of quilting. Well, not quite, at least 3 of the 80 was spent taking out some quilting I wasn't happy with the tension. All those tiny pumpkins seeds (done on a 1/2" grid) had sporadic pokies of the bobbin thread which is white. So I ripped them all out and redid them. Much happier with them now.

I am seeing light at the end of the tunnel. Not sure if I will finish this VQW but I will try. I have Monday off so the outlook is good.

All the projects are looking great!

I've managed to get one of the two Christmas panels finished. This one is for my daughter. This was my first time stitching with invisible thread for the FMQ, which was a bit of a challenge. I thought I'd try a window design, since it made sense to me that you could be inside, looking out at this scene. I played with the image and decided I didn't want any horizontal window frames, so this window design matches all the windows in our house since none of them have any horizontal framework.

Onward to the second panel. I've just got to spend some time reorganizing my dining room (read sewing room) to allow space for the Christmas tree.

It's been a very Christmassy crazy weekend! I baked up a huge batch of gingerbread cookies for the neighbors and the girls "helped" me ice them!

I then put up our Christmas tree. I'll set up the Nativity Scene on
Christmas Eve, like we always do. We keep our Christmas decorations up until mid January. (Usually! Last year I was lazy and they stayed up until March!)

I'm really pushing myself to finish this quilt gift so it can be washed, dried and wrapped under the tree for Christmas morning. It's for DH's Dutch cousin who came with her mom, DHs Aunty, for Christmas. Aunty is getting a quilt from me too. Thank heavens all that one needs still is a label.
