[QUOTE=Belfrybat;8674713]Quiltah Mama - what is the name of the wonky hearts quilt pattern? I really like it. And your backing fabric is fabulous.
Thank you for the compliment. This is the pattern I used. I found it last summer and thought it would be a good idea to use jelly roll strips. It was fun to make. Attachment 650719 |
Thanks for hosting this VQW Heather. I was able to accomplish a lot these past 3 days. This really helped move along my Indigo Way. Hopefully it will be a top by the end of January ............ well maybe February.

I also would like to thank the host. This does seem to motivate me. I've loaded the batik quilt on the longarm after piecing the back, I've sewn 48 railroad crossing blocks that are ready to be assembled into a top, and as an added bonus I've worked a couple hours on a hand-quilting project I'm finishing as a labor of love for someone.

I think this cold weather has inspired many of us to quilt this weekend! I finished one of the EPP distinctive dresdens I was working on and the second one is 1/3 completed. I picked up two quilts from the shop that i will need to trim and bind. I also sorted though a gigantic bag of binding scraps, sorting them into lights and darks. Maybe I'll have them cut into the length pieces I need by next month's VQW.
Speaking of which, I'm not sure if I gave the dates or not--next VQW is February 14-17, 2025. See you all next month! |
Quiltah Mama, love the blue bag. Please share video.
Love the heart pattern, also. I was thinking about a design like that for a seahorse-maybe the selvages that I started saving for the background. I made a blue pixel seahorse, and I think the pattern lends itself to a quilt like your heart quilt. And I was just telling myself that I will take a break from pixels...But these would be strips! |

Pixels completed! It still needs its borders. I have no more background lilac fabric. I thought I was short, but pieced together enough for the last filler. Evidently, 4 yards was not enough! On to the next stage...

Here is what I finished last evening. Squared up today and was inspected for quality this morning. All scraps from stash. I purchased a backing of large print poinsettia's for the back this afternoon at 50% off. I call that good. Now to layer and quilt. Maybe for the next VQW. ;)

I had a very busy weekend but I did have the goal to try curved piecing which I haven’t done. I have a Wanderer in the Wilderness quilt planned for this year, having received an acrylic template set for my birthday and a set of fabric for Christmas I think will me wonderful for it. I made the time to pull out some of my less favored scraps, watch a couple YouTube videos, work up 4 blocks and join them. I’m confident enough after those to just start in with the intended fabric.

QuiltingPandaBear, fancy meeting you here. A nice place to visit each month. It will be delicious to see your progress on the curved pieces.
