Yep, I could find some quality deals when we still had fabrics in our wm. Gotta be a shopper.

NOW walmart is saying that they are going to start closing stores in areas that over stuffed with walmarts...AND no more super stores! The super stores now will be downsized to more of the original store models and the new Market place stores will be opened instead(the new grocery stores)...

will be interesting to see where they go in this economy! I hate that they are all we have here....

I am sorry you lost your fabric department.

I am guessing that the larger stores with higher volume will either keep their fabrics or go back to carrying them. The smaller stores may not sell as much and therefore they may feel it's not worth having. We are at least 45 miles from any JoAnns or craft store, but there is a quilt shop about 15 miles (next town over) but their prices are almost $9 to $12 per yard.

Please let it be true! Some of their stuff is junk but some is good. And the price is right.

I hope it will be one of ours. I have to drive across the county to the fabric store. Not fun at all with the gas prices and all.

Pay the cutters? The Walmart I visit I have to stand and wait and wait for the cutter to come to the counter. They do other things in between customers so they aren't "special". Just stockers like the rest of them...they just drew the craft card this week and get to meet the best people in the world...quilters!! I'd love to just work in that area...in my retirement I'd like to do just that...cut material!

I have five Wal-Marts I can shop at and all five carry fabric.

Ohhhh...I would love it if they brought back the fabric department to the 2 Walmart's near me. I'd even take precuts!!!!

My problem is that I have a LQS about 10 minutes away from me, but they are part of a larger retail outlet so their prices are outrageous!!!

Hi I hope that they bring back the bolts of fabric to Walmarts too. The 2 by me did away with their fabric. Sure hope that they bring it back.
