I keep my walking foot attached to my singer in a cabinet all the time and only use it for binding and/or sewing looooong pieces of fabric together. When I piece I use my feather weight and a magnetic seam guide for a 1/4" seam. BTW my walking foot is a generic that I bought in the early 90s and it still works very well. Think I paid $25 for it then.

This is me. I love it for quilting, of course, and use it for binding. But it would drive me crazy to use it for piecing because I can't see the fabric as well, and also it's too slow. |

I bought one at Missouri Sewing Machine and used it the other day on a baby quilt. No puckers. I am very pleased. I didn't have to stay stitch or glue. Happiness. It worked so good. Now I am wondering about using the walking foot for just sewing things together or do I need to change to the regular foot. I can play around with it but it is so much easier to have you all tell me what you have done. Ha! Is it coming across that I might be a bit lazy? Or just in a hurry to finish up.
