Haven't tried the electric sharpener, so don't know about those. I have bought blades at Harbor Frieght, and some cheap ones off of ebay, forgot which shop, someone on here posted about the deal though. I hated the harbor freight ones, trash in my opinion, and the ebay ones aren't much better, so from now on, I'm only buying name brand ones, will just try to catch sales/coupons! With some things, you truly do get what you pay for.

I don't bother with sharpening anymore, I find that when sharpened they last only a few days and then if you have to do it again. So I change the blades as soon as they start skipping, I buy my blades at Harbour Freights, $2.50 for 2, I think I bought a lifetime supply from them when I first discovered how cheap they are.

I bought the TruCut I think from Nancy's Notions and have no problems getting my blades sharpened. I just just put the blade in as instructed and hit the button or push down the lid, whatever it is I'm to do. Its been awhile since I last used it as I save up my used blades and do them all at one time. True the used sharpened blade does not last as long but it gives me a little more use out of it. I just followed the instructions when I 1st got it. When the blade gets where it doesn't cut like it should then I move it over to the case I keep blades for cutting paper items only. I have my rotary cutters labeled so I don't use them for the wrong items. I keep old cases the blades came in labeled too.

I use the same seller on eBay that paper princess uses and couldn't be more pleased. You can't beat the price, product or time it takes to get them.

I agree with tessagin. I get my blades in bulk from ebay. Her current price is 100 45mm blades for $75. If you have a quilting buddy, you could split an order.

I purchase Harbour Frieght 2 in a pkg for $2.00. Always have good results with them. At that price, you can replace them frequently if needed (usually 2-3 months).
