My LQS has them and refills of all colors of the leads as well, but many online shops have them too. The US distributor is United Notions (Moda).

What about if there washed in cold water? Would that bring the color back?

Thanks for the warning!

I would say if the INK is in your fabric, that is never a good thing....who knows when it will show back up!
and what chemicals it contains, and what harm will eventually come to your quilt from those chemicals!

best to avoid using them all together!

Sounds like a good way to have fun with the kids, too. Had not heard of these pens before, but think I am going to have to find one. Thanks for sharing this tip. :)

That's the impression I get too. I bought some to play with & plan to experiment, then form my own opinion. Nothing I have heard about them has scared me off. I think they sound pretty neat actually. So, to each her own, I guess!

Thanks for the tip. I just bought some as a friend found out about them at a quilt show in Leavenworth, WA and was going to use the pen to trace a hand embroidery project. Which I guess would be alright as some people use the permanent Micron pens to trace.
