That is what I use it for, too.
If you can find it, I find that Superior brand is a little heavier and doesn't break as easy. Also, remember you can't lick the end of the thread to thread your needle! Barb

You can get some online at Red Rock Threads. I just bought some, but have not used it yet. Their prices are very reasonable and do reduce the shipping if you are only ordering 1-2 spools. Shipping is quick too.

No. it's not difficult to wind on a bobbin. Just go make sure it winds evenly, and not real tight. You can use it in hand needles to baste quilts together too....if you want longer stitches than by your sewing machine.

On one of the quilt shows the Superior thread guy told the story about his son, who is a pretty good sewer, resewed his friend's swim trunks using this thread. He said do not use it to sew bathing suits. LOL
