I bought the same one back in Nov. Haven't had a lot of time to sew but so far I love it. My old Touch and Sew could not be repaired and this one was recommended by the dealer (he also sells the Singer). For every 2 Singer bobbbins I bring in he will give me one Janome bobbin. Just have to take my thread off so I can save it before I take any more in to him. I am glad to hear all the good things about this machine. Thanks, everybody.

After I saw the machine at the dealers, I came home and read the reviews on it on several sites. I don't think I found one bad review at all. So that helped me make my decision. I went first thing the next morning to get it. I have just used it for playing around but so far I love it. I am just amazed at how quiet it is.

Congrats on your new machine. You will love it. I love my 9700 it dose everything. There just seems to be so little time to play with it.

I agree on this:
Bobbins ... Some will look very close and you may be tempted to use them .... then you might wonder why your machine does not work right. Just buy them from your dealer so you are sure to have the right ones.

Also a little tip on winding the bobbins, make sure you have it threaded right or you will wind up with very loose and tangled thread on the bobbin (I did).
Yes you can save the thread by winding new bobbin off the old bobbin.

Congradulations on your new Jamone, You will enjoy sewing on it. I have a cheap one and I've use it for the past 3 years. I just purchased a Ellna, but I haven't set it up yet..........Enjoy your new baby.

The table I mentioned is one that fits around the machine. It has compartments for accessories and lets your quilt top lay on it to move it about easier
