Thank you! I know two people in my family who would love that.

Gosh, gee, golly and here I though I had thunk this up all by myself. I totally love the idea of pockets for stuff and/or warming hands. I really want that soft drapey look and feel, so I'm actually thinking about using flannel on both sides. Or maybe flannel and fleece.
OH, Oh, oh.... I could put a pocket in the back for my heating pad to go in. LOL... ok, maybe that's going a bit too far. LOL
Hugs and smiles all. Let's see some photos from anyone that follows thru on this one.

The Mexicans have beat us to this idea. Or was it American Indians first? Anyway, someone here suggested a shawl with holes in the ends and knitted wristlets. And I have a long one with pockets on it and it is the best one I have. Must throw it out soon because it is shabby, but still comfy. I'll have to make another and a spare for my sister who is also cold at night sitting reading or watching TV.

if you put them inside the wrap, the wearer could put their hands in the pockets and keep the wrap closed at the same time.

Now this idea I like a lot. And there's no rule that says it couldn't have inside as well as outside pockets. When I get my hands on fabric and sit in front of a sewing machine, anything goes. I simply ignore the quilt police hammering on the door.

I think its a great idea. I would like one myself. Thanks for the idea.

Like a quilted snuggie?

I actually make a lap blanket/cape for my son who uses a wheelchair--it's sized to tuck in all around him but leave his arms free. But I've not made one that is quilted, exactly, because in our climate, a fleece and gortex combo works better.

What a neat idea. If someone makes one I hope they will post pics

Oh no! What have you started? Next we will see the quilted shawls on TV infomercials replacing the snuggly. What will they call them? Quallies? Shwuilts?

sounds like a great idea...I keep my house quite cool and it would feel really good to have that over my shoulders...what about lining with something like minkee...that would be really snuggly!
