depends on A- the actual size of the Qn sized quilt, B- the type of stitch used to stitch it down, C- the age of the person doing the stitching, D- the expertise of said person, E- the # of people in the household who demand dinner, dishes, laundry, etc be done, and so the list goes on....

I use the ladder stitch so it takes a bit longer, my needle hand also has arthritis, so that slows me down, I have dogs that can not let me sit more than 1/2 hour before one of them needs something..etc..etc...it takes me about 6 hours to do an average QN quilt!

Ya'll are all waaayyy faster than me. Although I would probably finish quicker if I didn't rip out so much. lol

It took me 7 hours for the hand stitching part on a binding of a 99"x110" quilt, but I enjoy it and break it up over several nights. I can do a great job hand stitching it, and a so-so job of machine stitching, so I usually go that route.

Wow. Your needle must have been FLYING - or I'm just really slow. I just finished a quilt for a friend - extra long single bed size, and it took me almost 7 hours. Although I really don't like hand piecing or hand quilting, for some reason I love the hand binding process, so I just take it slow and easy.

You are really fast. I just did a lap quilt size and it took me 2 hours. I usually don't do it all at once but had to get it done.

LOL It took me close to 10 years to finnish the binding on a Cal King 120in.x120 in. I now machine sew it on, about 1/2 and hour. I did use the quilt all those years. I had the one finnished edge to the top.

For a queen size quilt to hand stitch the binding on the back takes me about 2 hrs.

Many, many hours. I do mainly wall quilts and they take a minimum of 2-3 hours. It is one of those tasks that cannot be rushed.

I can usually get it done in one evening. At that stage, I'm anxious to get it done. That includes sewing it on by machine on one side and then sewing by hand.

Since most of my quilts are king sized, I would say that it takes me several hours, although I've never timed myself.
