Somedays just aren't meant to be sewing days. When everything is going wrong.... stop... come back to it another day.

New to quilting and on a trip to the LQS and asked what color thread to use to piece multi color fabrics. Carol told me, I always use either light or dark grey aurifil. Been using it ever since. Think it was my biggest aha moment.

One of my all time favorite- why didn't I think of this- tips. I put a tiny red dot on my clear plastic applique sewing machine foot. Its on the front directly in front of the needle. When I'm doing a blanket stitch around my applique I can use the dot as a quide on the edge of the fabric instead of trying to see where the needle is.

Starch...press and quilt basting spray!!

someone mentioned buy a 1/4" foot on this site...I bought it and that was the best investment for me so far...also the stick glue!!! helps with sewing the seams.
