You could join them and use them as a backing on a scrappy quilt.
|
You can add a skinny border to the smaller blocks and do a layout similar to those of t-shirt quilts. They deal with different sizes of t-shirts. Have fun!

At our last quilt show, we were asked to donate our orphan blocks and they were sold at the show for $1.00 each...I bought several...turned some into placemats for our meals on wheels program and still have some to put together for charity quilts...
I have a drawer for orphan blocks...I call it the orphanage... |
Twinkie: Thanks for starting this thread. I put sashing on some 12.5" blocks to make them 16.5" and now I am going to add scrappy strips between and around them similar to the Gypsy blocks that Pegasus linked up for you.
I will also check out the other links so thanks to other members for posting them. Connie |
Please do not throw them away. Consider donating them so NICU quilts for preemies can be made out of them. I have a thread going on the board and it shows several examples of quilts made with orphan blocks that are now preemie quilts.

Our quilt guild is currently accepting orphan blocks that will be pieced into charity quilts... You could do the same or donate them to a group in your area.

you could make rows of the same size blocks if you have enough of each one and then put them together or you could add sashing to them to make them all the same size/
