If you add borders to make it at least 12" you ca make NICU quilts. Most large hospitals will take them for preemies.

At the end of the year I gather my orphans and make wheel chair robes. 36x38 in. short enough to not catch in wheel. I then donate to nursing homes. If is dementia patients they are rag style so they can fidget. Sometimes I add ribbons, zippers. pockets ect. It is very rewarding and makes my Christmas spirit soar!

I don't think she's still doing it, but you might want to look at the Soy Amado quilts. The results were great.

If smaller, add borders to bring them up to size. Then she joined the QAYG blocks and donated them to orphanages. I had several beautiful blocks that were orphans. I had to bring them up to size, quilt them, and off they went. The quilts were beautiful. She has a "Flipagram" on that page that shows a lot of the quilts and mind boggling stacks of QAYG blocks and binding that people sent to her. |

Graph paper works well for drafting this out. Since you have some many, i would pile up all the same sizes together, and really assess what you have... and then grab the graph paper. You might would want to group same sizes in one corner... then the next size in another corner... and so on... and only sash around the "grouping", rather than around each block. My quilt guild collects orphan blocks and we make doll quilts with them. We then donate them to the local Salvation Army, they distribute them to 7 year old girls. I think they passed out 800 dolls last year, each came with it's own quilt and 2 outfits. I think we made over 100 doll quilts this year. I am waiting to hear the final count.

Mine are all in a box. I don't have a lot of them but when I get enough I'll make something with them
