I just try to put on my blinders and ignore the house cleaning, organizing, and other nuisance issues! Of course I have to make allowances for those nasty health issues. So far, I have recently been starting one project after another and making some more clutter!!

I have been in a funk since last year. My quilting buddy found a quilt kit at a thrift store....paid $6.00.....a $120 kit for $6.00. :) :) She didn't like the fabrics nor the "tough" blocks. :) :) I have block # 12 done (started just a couple of weeks ago).....and found that trying something out of the box for me has worked! The blocks are detailed...something I'd have never tried before and the pattern says to cut xx squares of light, medium or dark fabric....NO color choices picked out by the designer.....just MY choice. Now I'm ready to make quilts again!!!!!!!! Good luck...hope you get out of your funk.

We may have to get a bigger boat because a lot of us seem to be in the same one :-) I haven't sewn anything in a while, but I know it's the stress and having to focus my energy for the last part of the school year--When it's over I'll veg for a few days, catch up on The Quilt Show then choose some audio books, fire up Craftsy head to my sewing room and have my own quilt retreat :-)

The part of the quilting process that I dislike the most is the cutting part. Currently, I have a pattern, have purchased the fabric and have washed and prepared it for cutting. Because I am a caregiver for my husband who can't be left alone very long without my constant supervision, it has been hard for me to find the motivation to get started cutting the fabric. It is hard to be constantly interrupted to keep him cared for and safe when I need to focus on the cutting so that I don't make any mistakes. Once fabric is cut, you can't put it back together if you've cut in the wrong place. Tomorrow I am going to try to make at least two cuts. Maybe just getting started is the difficult part. Maybe motivation comes with the doing. We'll see tomorrow.

Desi I get like you when I am doing a project that is tedious or involves a process I am not to keen on ie cutting 1 1/2" squares. What I try to do is set everything out and then make myself get started with the bit I don't want to do. Even if I only do a little it kind of breaks the ice and gets things started. I also find getting a friend over to sew with me gets me going. Good luck

It must be in the air, I have found I"m getting nothing accomplished for the last few weeks... I think after getting 6 quilts ready within a few weeks before Christmas I burnt myself out. Now we are running back and forth out of state where we had to gut our home there and rewire it and now getting ready to dry wall has really worn me out. Living on an active farm hasn't helped either!!!..I have managed to get 6 quilts sandwiched and ready to quilt but just can't seem to find the time. .I think I am just over whelmed with ''too'' much stuff to do and would love to get back into my quilting groove.
