Several years ago, someone in my quilt guild brought in kitchen curtains she had made for show and tell. She had sewn yo yo's across the bottom of the curtains so they hung off the bottom edge. The curtains were gorgeous! I never forgot it.

[QUOTE=Tartan;7694014]Make Christmas cards for all your quilting friends with red yo yos in a pot for poinsettias, green ones in the shape of a Chrustmas tree etc. Use a line of them and embroidered hooks above them on a mantel scarf to suggest Christmas ornaments. Sew them together in long rows for garlands for your Christmas tree.[/QUOTE

I love your idea of making cards...and the designs you mentioned would be great on pillows too! Thanks bunches!

Here is my favorite yo-yo quilt: http://allthingsshabbyandbeautiful.t...st/47988255248

Thank you for the link to this lovely quilt. It is the prettiest quilt I've seen using yo-yos.

Have seen them as embellishments for all kinds of uses and on sewing machine covers. saw a photo of a throw with hexies with yo yo centers. It was really cute. Hexies were green and yo yos were variety. Look like cute flowers.

Here's my one and only make with yo-yos. I have a box of extras that will probably stay in the box. My daughter took the quilt for her new house.

A quilt store, which is no longer in business, had window valances made with yo-yos. They were eye catching!

SSStiches, that is a very pretty quilt.

I, also, have a bunch of yo-yos that I have made over the years while sitting in the doctor's office or while waiting for something. I'm not sure what I am going to do with them either. I did see a picture of a quilt where the yo-yos were stitched on the block seam, in between the blocks, using them like they were sashing. It was quite pretty, as each block was a large centered applique and a lot of space around it. The background was muslin and the yo-yos were all different colors, sewed down the seams and it made quite an eye-catching quilt. I wish I had a picture to show you.

Yes! Garlands for the Christmas tree!! Thanks, Tartan. My box of orphans have found a home at last!

Think I would use them on the border of a quilt as flowers along a long winding, embroidered vine that either circled or partially circled it with a few appliqued leaves scattered about.

Some really good suggestions here from others.
