Audio books is such a great idea - mostly l put on old John Denver record albums (yes, records...remember those?) But I think I'll try an audio book next.

Classics if I'm concentrating, they are soothing. A good dose of girl band 'Bond' when I want something lively, but usually the wonderful tones of Andrea Boccelli

I'm the opposite of your mom. When I'm sewing or ironing, I'll have both the radio on in the kitchen (which is next to my sewing studio) and the tv on in the family room (which is off the other side of my sewing studio). So while I'm sewing I can hear the radio and while ironing I can watch tv!

I have to say that I have an awesome brother because he just installed a flat screen TV in my sewing room....wooot woot! I watch TV...lol...or listen that is....lol!
|
I listen to either the TV or christian radio.

Am I the only one that listens to Aerosmith???

Guess I'm going to be the odd man out...I am a news junkie and have CNN on. If it gets too depressing I switch to HGTV because there is no plot to follow, just listen when I'm not concentrating on something tricky.

I listen to country gospel, classic country, Eagles, the Band on CD or Pandora. I sing along, off key, and have a joyous time.
|
I listen to the Newshour on PBS at three and a local news at four o'clock while I stitch. No one needs to SEE the news and I mute the commercials. It's amazing how much one can accomplish in about two hours each afternoon when my room is sunny and bright and the windows colorful in the fall with bright leaves. Yes, even in Calilfornia we have bright leaves while it's still in the 70s outdoors.

I'm afraid I have to have some type of "noise" when I sew/quilt. I like quiet, but I don't like it when it's too quiet. I sometimes have one of my favorite TV shows on, or I put on a favorite movie, but I have to have some background.
