If only one the circle but I agree with many others her I would use both.

eparys 02-12-2011 05:32 AM

Both look great but I am partial to the circle as it "goes with" the fabric.

BTW - I love the quilt!!

piepatch 02-12-2011 05:40 AM

I think the circle works better with the design in the fabric, and with the quilt pattern, and if it were me, that is what I would use. Having said that, the heart design is so sweet for a grandaughter ! I'm not much help am I ? :)

thequilteddove 02-12-2011 05:47 AM

I vote circle :)

thseabreze 02-12-2011 05:49 AM

they are both nice, but for a grand daughter, maybe the heart fits best, or you could use both, but I would definately add the heart to it as well.

#1piecemaker 02-12-2011 05:52 AM

I love the heart!! I think it gives it a more dainty look.

dreamgirl 02-12-2011 05:56 AM

Both are beautiful, but granddaughter and hearts just seem to go together. :-D

vickimc 02-12-2011 06:09 AM

the circle

scaroca 02-12-2011 06:12 AM

I like the heart. Fill the quilt with love.

sandpat 02-12-2011 06:27 AM

Alternate and use both...its a lovely quilt!

PWinston 02-12-2011 06:41 AM

My vote goes to the circle. Love your quilt top. The finished quilt will be gorgeous no matter if you use one or both quilting templates.

steelecg 02-12-2011 06:46 AM

I like them both but for some reason I think the circle fits a little better

Jeri M 02-12-2011 07:18 AM

Yep, I would use both. They both have the same flow. Show us when you are done.

nena 02-12-2011 07:38 AM

Circle for me.

craftymatt2 02-12-2011 08:03 AM

WOW, great suggestions, but i to am partial to hearts, go with hearts.

Scakes 02-12-2011 08:03 AM

I'd use both I think.

grannyp70 02-12-2011 08:16 AM

I like the heart one myself, but either one would be pretty.

mhansen6 02-12-2011 08:20 AM

I like the circles. It goes with the circles in the black fabric.

abc123retired 02-12-2011 08:57 AM

The circle gets my vote since it fits better.

quiltingnana1 02-12-2011 09:28 AM

I like the circle best. It is a beautiful quilt and your granddaughter will surely love it regardless of how it is quilted. :)

matraina 02-12-2011 09:35 AM

Both are beautiful but I agree about the circle. Those look like the Candlewicking templates I used to use long time ago.

Helene 02-12-2011 11:18 AM

May I ask you a question? I am totally new at quilting... Where do you buy those templates and are they use for quilting with a sewing machine and if it is what kind of foot?? You did a real good job I think I prefer the heart template.. Thanks for any help :-)

penski 02-12-2011 11:45 AM

wow i like both of them can you use both in the quilt?

penski 02-12-2011 11:48 AM

you can buy the templates at most anyplace that sells fabric or quilting supplies, there are a lot on the internet you can purchase, yes you have to use FMQ when doing them, so you would need to know how to do FMQ using a darning foot or FMQ foot with the feed dogs dropped, you could also draw your own pattern

Helene 02-12-2011 12:17 PM

Thanks for the help! I will take a look at JoAnn Fabric..Hopefully I will start to do something.. I have so much a hard time to convince myself that I can do it.. I am learning so much here!! I guess it is time now to just do it... :-D

butterflies5518 02-12-2011 12:21 PM

I vote for the circle, would love to see the fnished product, thanks for sharing.

brendadawg 02-12-2011 01:27 PM

I think I like the circle better. If the size works out, maybe a heart right in the middle?

noveltyjunkie 02-12-2011 01:31 PM

I vote circle. I find the heart a little busy with all the angles in the piecing. Lovely quilt!

Minnisewta 02-12-2011 01:33 PM

circle

Aunt Bea 02-12-2011 01:43 PM

I like the circle also.

michelehuston 02-12-2011 01:44 PM

You can't go wrong either way! I did hearts for my oldest grandaughters quilt! But they are both beautiful!!

Ditto.

catmcclure 02-12-2011 04:08 PM

Since the blocks are on point, the heart would look really, really good.

blossom808 02-12-2011 04:14 PM

Circle. I think it fits better and looks better.. But Im just a newbie...

IBQUILTIN 02-12-2011 04:25 PM

I think I would alternate

k9dancer 02-12-2011 04:28 PM

Both are lovely; I like the heart just a bit more.

sewbizgirl 02-12-2011 04:35 PM

I like the variety of alternating the two patterns.
