I like the circle the best only because it is not quite as busy as the heart. If I were using the heart as well, I think that I would simplify it a bit. I love hearts so I'd probably try to figure out how to make it a little simple so that I could use both.

I think the circle fits the square better in size, love the heart, but it looks a little too big to me for the block, but both are nice
|
I love the hearts one!

I like the round one too. What kind of frame do you have? I need a new one and this one looks like something I would love to have.
|
The circle would be my choice. Be sure to post pics when you are done.

I like the circle best. I used to collect heart stuff and all my dds and I really got tired of hearts
BUT how about use all circles and just do one with a heart? Or as someone else said, use both since you must like hearts. |
Personally I like the circle best, but which ever you choose will make a beautiful quilt.
|
Well here is my 2 cent worth...If you used both but alternated the heart to be pointing one up and the next on down with the circle between them that would solve the directional problem since the heart would be right side up from either end...
|
i like the circle the quilt would not be just one way

I like the circle because it coordinates with the circles or dots in your fabric. It seems better balanced in the center. Are you doing it by hand? It is really pretty!
|
I l ike the circle.

Circle...
I think the heart is too large for the block.. If you could find a heart stencil where the point of the heart would be toward the center of the block instead of at an angle to the corner...that might look great. |
The circle.
|
Circle for me also...for many of the reasons already given.

You all are terrific when a question is put before you. |
sincethisis for your grandaughter the hearts mean more, but they are both beautiful.

I like the circle best - I think it offsets the geometric shapes better. The heart is very pretty, but in this particular design, makes your eye go too many places, and looks more disjointed. Just my opinion...
|
What if you used the heart in the middle and one on each corner and the circle for the rest.Just an idea
|
I like the circle better. The heart is a little too close to the edge of the block. If it were slightly smaller, I would alternate them.

WOW!! I was out of town yesterday and am just now reading all your ideas. ..... I always know exactly what I want when a quilt is for me but when it's for someone else, I have a really hard time deciding.
I will be sure to take a picture of it when it's finished. That may take awhile. I'm not super fast at handquilting but I like the looks better than machine quilting although I've done both. I've had a couple of PMs about my quilt frame. It is a homemade one that I bought at an auction a few years ago. I do love it and my DH says it wouldn't be very hard to make. His uncle made a similar one for his aunt way back in the 60's and I'd done some quilting on hers a few years ago. When I saw this one, I knew it would work well. I told the people that ask about it that I'd be happy to take some close-up pictures of it and measure the parts if they wanted me to do that. So, let me know if you all would like me to make a thread of that information. There are so many DH that are handy enough to make them. Actually, I think I could do it if the DH would trust me with his power tools. That's another story. Thanks again... |
would love the quilt frame pattern

I think that the circle looks the best.:)

I like to circle - the heart almost looks too big
|
I like the idea of using them both but if I have to pick one I have always loved the circle.

I like The Circle. Heart too large for space. Will loose the pattern of the qilt.
|
I like the circle!!

I go with the circle, I'm not crazy about hearts. Using hearts means you must always lay quilt in same direction.
|
the circle without doubt.
