I have a New Home Treadle that is 100 yrs. old. She sews like a dream and doesn't need electricity! I also have a 1958 Singer with all attachments included. My grandmother was wonderful. She also sews like a dream. Even after 20 years of setting untouched. Well she is a little more than touched now. LOL

I have a Brother from Walmart. It does straight stitch and zig-zag, and has a zipper foot. I think I got it for $40 on sale. Actually I have two now, because when mom died last December I kept hers.

I also inherited my grandmothers treadle. It's a Royal something, and not in very good shape. I don't have a clue what to do with it or who to call to fix it up, but it's the one I learned to sew on and I can't fathom giving it away or trashing it.

I finally found a used APQS Lenni 20" long arm system locally that I could afford and is sitting downstairs for me to learn all of it's tricks. Too many machines . . . Not enough time or space. Ann in TN

One of my students was given an old White last year, and I printed her a manual from the internet. There is a website where you can do that for all old machines, but I can't remember the URL. I'd say just Google old sewing machine manuals. I think that is what I did.

Since I teach sewing and quilting in my home, I like to have some of the older ones around for them to learn on, and then I try to help them get one they can afford (usually recommend Brother)

I have a Janome Horizon, which I love.
I also have a Janome 8000, with some embroidery cards
I have a Singer Featherweight
and another older black singer in a cabinet (not treadle)

I would love to have a treadle but as I have gotten older, I decided I have enough machines.

Right now I only have a cheap Brother machine that I bought at Wal-Mart. Don't get me wrong...I haven't had a lick of trouble out of it, but it only does so much. I mentioned to someone in the quilters guild I just joined that when I get my taxes back I'd like to get one that I could drop the feed dogs on and learn to do some free-motion quilting on, but that I can't afford much. She told me she has a Viking that she hasn't used much that she'd be willing to let go! I don't know which Viking it is, but she said she'd bring it to the next guild meeting so I can see it. I'm so excited!!! :c)

Oh...and right now my "dream machine" is a Sweet Sixteen. :c)

What Berninas do you have for sale? I would be interested in anything between the 1130 and perhaps the 1530, especially the 1230. I realize shipping is expensive but it would be a necessary evil to contend with. Poor packaging is not an option.
