No never used a serger, had an old one but I know I wouldn't have bought a needle for it. Here is another picture with size comparison.

Well, the eye means that it is a hand sewing needle. As previously noted, curved tip needles are not uncommon. Is it possible that this needle got jammed in a drawer which caused it to bend in the middle?

Looks like it might be a leather lacing needle. Did you think about repairing a leather bag or wallet? Or putting a braided edge on heavy canvas or plastic?

I ordered the needle just the way it is. I do remember that. Just don't remember why. I never used it I do know that much. LOL It was still in the plastic package (no info ) I'm looking through order emails to see if I can find the info but I think it was too long ago to still have the order.

It certainly is an odd looking needle. I personally have racked my brain and I can not see a purpose with that acute bend to it.
